MAKE ROOM FOR THE BIG ONE.
What started with The One has grown into a huge phenomenon. Now it's time now for THE BIG ONE. Our revolutionary GB 10.7 coverstock is pushed to 11.2 delivering a backend attack that is the most aggressive to hit the lane. A dominant performer in wet conditions, it complements The One in a big way. Bowl to Win.
The Perfect Scale™: Helping Bowlers Make Better Decisions. Because each manufacturer uses a different method for indicating a ball's hook potential, bowlingball.com developed a way for the consumer to compare bowling balls across all manufacturers.

What I Was Looking For in this Ball and Layout:
I wanted a ball that allowed me to play straighter angles through the front portion of the lane while still retaining a "pointed" or sharp looking breakpoint. If you read my ball review on the Big Time from June 3rd, you'll see in this review how planning out a desired reaction can be the difference.
What I Ended Up With in this Ball and Layout:
The Big One is exactly what I expected in the front part of the lane. The ball is a very aggressive coverstock from Ebonite and needs sufficient head oil to get through the front. With my physical game, this matches up great anyway. No way will you see me going straight through the front if there is some friction available. In this layout, I'm using a moderate pin position to control the early track flare. By combining pin position with my knowledge of the coverstock, I know exactly what I'm going to get in the front part of the lane.
I chose to use a 5 3/4" PSA distance from my PAP. By placing the preferred spin axis in this position, I still get that quick move when the ball begins to lose axis rotation. Notice that I was even lucky enough to get a center of gravity that lined up to the right of the pin-psa line. By placing the center of gravity closer to my axis, I tend to get a quick move at the breakpoint followed by a lot of controllable forward roll. This gets the ball into a heavy end over end roll, which is great for playing straighter angles with my game.
The overall hook of my Big One ball is similar to my One ball. The main difference is the front end look. By using a stronger cover with a lower pin height, I've created earlier roll on the lane. My partner Jesse may not have liked my intent with this ball, but this layout gives me exactly what I was looking for when I went to the drill press.

Hello friends,
I just purchased The Big One and love it. If you want a ball that hooks and you throw with good speed this is the ball for you. I throw between 2nd and 3rd arrow and you dont have to worry because it will hook. I would strongly recommend this ball to anyone who has trouble with ball hooking. This one will hook. I love it.

Due to the "house" condition, where I bowl, I couldn't use Ebonite's The Big One bowling ball for more than one game. This lasted for 8 weeks because it hooked way too much for my down and in style. I finally wised up and had my pro "shine" it up and shot 680 during the nest session. Since then, I have shot consistently between 650 and 680. Most of us 65 year old bowlers who still average over 200 have trouble "zooming" the ball down the lane as do the younger crowd. I am very happy with the "One" now and even use it for my spares. You have to play around with angles and speeds but once you find what is conducive for your house, this ball is great. I went from a 16 pounder to a 15 so having to switch between them, during the matches, was crazy. Now I use the 15 pound "One" all of the time.

Ebonite's The Big One hooks a lot and it is fun to experiment with the different ways you can throw it and it still gets back to the pocket.

I bowl on a league where they oil usually less than an hour before starting time...I started out using the Vendetta 44 magnum and I love that ball but because of so much oil I couldn't get it to hook enough..I got Ebonite's The Big One out and no longer had a problem getting into the pocket with a bang...this ball is great for heavy oil if you know how to use it as its meant to be used...throw it out wide and let it work itself into the pocket..this is a great ball for the price!!!

The Big One doesn't even move for me! When I first got this ball it was hooking really nicely and I got my second 300 with it. Now it just glides down the lanes for me. I am a lefty and I usually play between 2 and 3 arrow on the left side. When I throw there I usually leave a washout, if I play at the second arrow, I won't even hit the pocket. Then if I throw at third arrow, I'll just directly hit the one pin and leave a split. I will slow down then I will just get brooklyn's. I used to like this ball, but now I don't like it. I was expecting a little more hook potential from this ball.

I was told to get this ball from a pro shop, because I throw a 16 lb ball, usually my speed is 16 to 17. I have been using this ball for two weeks and I am not impressed with it at all. I tried to slow it down and it still does not hook like it is made to. Nobody else in the 2 leagues that I bowl in has it. I need some help?

For my first hook ball it has been pretty good the only problem is it takes awhile to warm up and start to hook. Good First hook ball if that's what your looking for.
