I was so glad to see that they re-released the Quantum Violet Hook bowling ball made by Brunswick. This ball was way ahead of its time and is still a great ball. The color is cool and the ball holds a polish like no other ball. Very little maintenance. My first night out with the ball I was able to play the way I used to, very down and in. Most new balls jump or flare too much. The Violet Hook has a very smooth arc with great hitting power. My first set, I average 211, was a 788, two nights later I shot my first 300 game and first 800 game since 2000. I have not had a set under 700 since getting this ball. If you like to stay around the dry area and not have to go too deep on the lane this is the ball. With all of my other balls I had to move too far left and would start loosing my carry. I have already ordered two more to keep, just in case. I highly recommend this ball to anyone who likes to play down and in, or belly the ball out just a little. The ball will let play a little right of the track or up the track and carries great. Works great on all types of conditions from oil to dry. This ball desires 6 stars, buy it, you'll be glad that you did. By the way, polish the ball up to at least 1000 and keep the surface up with Brunswick Rough Buff or Factory Finish depending on your game, rev's, and ball speed. A real winner.

I have personally thrown the Violet and have drilled at least 100 of these balls. At least 25 purchased here from bowlingball.com. Let me first say thanks to Keith Spear for bringing back tried and true equipment at great prices rather than trying to gouge the consumer. I have seen this ball work for every single type of bowler that you can imagine. From full roller to spinner. From youth to senior. This has to be one of the most versatile bowling balls out there today regardless of your game level or ball speed. I give this ball a total thumbs up. You will not be disappointed. I would also like to note that I don't think there is a bowling ball out there like the Violet Quantum that responds so well to cleaning and polishing. Minimum up keep is required when the ball is polished. HIGHLY RECOMMED. I hope this helped some of my fellow bowlers.

The Quantum Violet Hook is THE go-to ball. When I'm struggling and just not carrying. I pull this ball out and roll great games and sets. It was a hand me down from a regional pro friend. I've had an original one since 1997. buy a couple, they are that good, even today.

I just got one of the Quantum Violet Hook bowling balls. It's a more tame ball than either of my Infernos, (I have Total and Absolute Inferno) and actually, it isn't as strong as my Impulse Zone. It might be on par in terms of total hook with my Classic Zone with better carry. Nice for second shift or lanes that have some carry down. Very smooth, even reaction.

I can't believe an old ball can be reintroduced and perform better than most of the current high end balls. First off let me say the color of the exclusive Violet Hook is lavender or even pink depending on who you ask. I had my doubts simply because of the color but this was the original color. The Violet Hook hits the pins hard and rolls smooth and consistent. I bowled my first 600 series in league play today. I've been bowling for 9 months. I have 6 other high end balls and the Quantum does everything my newer balls can do and more in some cases.
I have to give my pro shop credit on the drilling layout, he used to have a Violet Hook and has drilled many over the years.
This ball is everything the previous reviewers have said the Violet Hook is. I was skeptical after looking at the color of the Violet Hook, but bowling 5 or 6 strikes in a row silences any critics.

This ball is cool looking. Rolls very strong and hits very hard. The Quantum technology has really paid off for me. I have had most of the Quantum balls and it is with these balls that I have shot all of my award scores. I would recommend getting one before they are gone.

I LOVE THE COLOR, especially when it is highly polished. This ball has core technology that should be fetching around the $140.00 and up price. The price is great. I drilled this ball with the pin near the ring finger and it rolls so smooth, nicely controlled arc with A+ carry. I have shot my highest games and set with this ball. I just bought another one to have in stock.

Got this ball at the start of my summer league. My average finally went up after all the years of struggling on the tougher summer league shots. It works well with all ball speeds and rev rate, very pleased.

I throw Quantum whenever I can, this ball is awesome, rolls even and steady through the heads and mid lane. Carries very well. I have had good luck with this ball on all condition types, from dry to oily lanes, including the pba league shots. Love this ball, you will too.
