Make Your Bowling Swing With A Steady Head

The great golfer, Jack Nicklaus, has been quoted as saying “swing around a steady head and you will play good golf.”

The same notion holds true in bowling.

Make your bowling swing with a steady head. Avoid any unnecessary head movement while you take your approach.

Head movement comes in different ways.

Eliminate the best you can any head movement whatsoever as though you are walking with a glass of water balanced on the top of your head and you want to deliver your bowling ball without spilling a drop of water.

Avoid bending abruptly from your waist while taking an approach.

Try to avoid dropping your chin into your chest suddenly which pulls you too far forward when you are releasing your ball.

If you tilt your head sideways when walking and when releasing your bowling ball, you risk a loss of balance during the critical moment you release your ball.

Keeping a steady head during your approach is made easy if you relax your neck and shoulders while swinging your ball.

Tension is never good when swinging your ball. Avoid forcing your shot and in particular, your release motion.



If there is one key tip any bowler can be reminded of is to keep a steady head while you bowl.

Some head movement is likely going to happen but if you strive to walk with your chin even with your shoulders or slightly above shoulder level, you will improve your chances of having good body balance while you bowl.

Remain in an athletic posture throughout your set-up and your approach while keeping your head still and your chances of making a high quality shot improves.
