oh kind sir, could you help me with releasing the ball the same way every time. i am using a scout 15 lb bowling ball mainly because the dry heads at both places i bowl at. i have been averaging around 200 for 40 of the fifty years i have been bowling with my high average around 217 some 25 years ago. recently went from throwing the ball from the right side of the ball to behing and left side of the ball. i feel like i have better control on dryer alleys, getting the ball past the lanes either with speed of loft depending on just how dry they are. what i would like to find out is how can i make my release the same every time. should i just concentrate on follow through? is there a solution to releasing the ball the same way every time. i bowl three time a week and practice on saturdays. thanks, john

Thanks Guys

While I was trying to make up my mind Roto grip came out with a new ball the Rotogrip Cell Pearl. I love it, does exactly what I wanted on both heavy oil or medium oil.

New Question

The other day I was playing around as I was leaving and bowled a ball with my regular running shoes and bowled an easy strike. Thinking this was a fluke I tried it again and bowled another strike. So I played my next game with my regular running shoes and bowled a 180 my highest score yet? Whats the deal? I actully like the feel of planting my slide foot it gave me much more power on my realease and I was able to get more power behing the ball. Is this leagal can you bowl with regular shoes or do you have to use bowling shoes. Also, Why did this become such an advantage for me? Is this something I can keep doing? Or is this just a fluke and will not benifit my game in the long run?

The problem I am having this year is that when I get in this deep there is now a heavy left handed wall I am running into that is creating a wet/dry type of a ball reaction. If I pull the ball a little I got light for a 2 pin with and without friends, and if I swing the ball outside to much it goes high. The agressive ball that I have been using typically has a pin 5.5" from the PAP with a 45 to 60 degree layout. The solution I am thinking of is to go with a more agressive cover stock with a shorter PAP to Pin distance and a smaller Pin/PAP to Pin/PSA angle say around 20 to 45 degree layout. This has seemed to work to some degree. I have used an Ebonite One with a 3.75" Pin to PAP distance at a15 to 20 degree layout. Am I on the right track with this problem or should I be looking at something different?
