Kinetic Energy is the second ball in the Upper Mid Price line for Track. It features the same outstanding Shuttle core as the original Kinetic, with identical core numbers. We've wrapped the core with an all new UMP Gen 2 coverstock. This makes the Kinetic Energy the perfect ball to complement the reaction of the Kinetic. While Kinetic Energy uses the bowler's energy sooner, it still gives the huge backend you want and expect.

The Perfect Scale™: Helping Bowlers Make Better Decisions. Because each manufacturer uses a different method for indicating a ball's hook potential, bowlingball.com developed a way for the consumer to compare bowling balls across all manufacturers.

What I was to expect/what I wanted: I expected the ball to read the midlane better than the Kinetic while using more energy, but still be stronger on the backend. What I wanted was the ball to read the midlane more than my Mean Machine, and backend just as hard(if not close) as my Rising.
The layout we went with: Pin beneath and slightly right of my ring finger, 3 7/8" from PAP, MB kicked out 50 degrees, with a small hole(maybe 1/4" in VAL for more flare/backend.

What I got: Exactly what I asked for and then some. On a lane after the 1st shift and still OOB at the time I had to play pretty deep and play a big angle to get the KE where it needed to be. Apparently, the KE is suitable for medium-heavy, but pending the rev rate, layout, and surface it may even be too much for a medium condition-but that's just from my point of view. I really wanted to compare it to another ball, so I decided to use my Kinetic(which is back to OOB) to show the extreme difference between the two.

I have since taken the KE down to 2000, and in terms of strength, sits in between my Rising, and MM-where I wanted it to be!

Pretty sick ball , lots of pin action , i have a kinetic Pearl and energy and pearl carries down farther with huge back end and Energy has lots of power and never slips out from hitting the pockey like the pearl . pearl sometimes slips to far and loose energy to the pocket while the Kinetic energy has consistant power all throught the through i have fast ball speed with hitting 2nd arrow everyshot hooking back into pocket with exploding power , nice ball from track .

I wanted a ball that would perform on medium to oily lanes. This ball is excellent on medium oil. It does not leave ten pins and it seems to have a large area that you can throw it to and still find the pocket. If the speed falls below 15.5 or thereabouts it will hit too high, but it doesn't seem to like to leave big splits when it does this, just small ones. Irregardless of speed, the ball does hit the pocket very hard. On heavy oil, the ball did't recover all that well and the mark that I had to hit to get it in the pocket became much smaller. Maybe jerkin around with the cover would increase heavy oil performance, but I paid $200 and I am not going to go there. I've only rolled five games with it, but it eerily performs exactly like the "Bowlers Journal" review, which I read after rolling the ball.

Got this ball as a hand me down from a fellow league bowler who didnt like it. It was drilled for a skid/snap reaction. Thats pretty much what it did. It slid forever and then snapped hard. I threw it at the 2009 USBC Masters, 2009 USBC open and in league. For me, it was way to hard to control. It was fun to throw because it looked cool, but controlling it was a completely different thing. I think it would be better suited for someone with really high revs and fast speed

This is 1 of the best balls I have ever thrown. It hooked in heavy oil and when the lanes dryed out the ball had a nice even arc, not some wild huge snap at the end, which made it easy to controll. As an added bonus the ball has had good cary as well which has helped my ave this year. I am at 215 and going up with this ball.

This ball is really consistent out of box but after you get about 60 games on it really becomes inconsistent on how it reads the lanes. I was really disappointed lately about it either going to long or going to high so I got it polished & it hasnt had a bad reaction since

If you're looking for a ball to get down the lane and turn the corner hard, look no further! The perfect compliment to the Tantrum! When I tested the KP and the Tantrum, I had a little more recovery room with the KP over the Tantrum. When the Tantrum is not enough then you can go to the KP. With these two you'll be able to stay lined up longer without the big move left(for righties). The one I tested had the #1 layout, pin above fingers and mb 2" right of thumb. You could send it right and have confidence that the ball would make it back and still have enough to kick the corners out

Once again this is a track ball and I am kinda loyal, but with my ring finger drilled through the pin and the MB about 4 inches right of my thumb. And we had to a weight hole about 1 3/8 on my axis point to make it legal. This ball rolls beautiful on every condition I have thrown it on and is the strongest balls I have ever owned, but don't let that scare you away. This includes playing 3rd arrow on the driest of dry shots at an old wood house, to playing about the same on one of the wettest conditions in southeast Missouri. The only warning I have is you differently have to project this ball, if u short arm it it goes right through the nose. The K.E. does everything it was advertised to do though. It reads the mids, dry or wet, awesome and last night I was able play to around (deeper) than anyone in the house so I had oil all night. With enough energy still to kill the hole and carry. It was factory polished when I got it but that surface is long gone the first game of practice I through with it we hit the coverstock with a green scotch-brite and that where it stays. I love it!
