Well, I just drilled this ball up the other day prior to a tournament. I had it drilled to hook a little early. I knew the conditions for this tournament were going to be a little tighter and wanted a ball with some aggressiveness. During the practice session before the squad began, I threw 10 out of 11 strikes on 5 different pairs with this ball. The ball reacted great off the dry and hit like a truck. I tried several different angles and they all carried very well!

Once the tournament started, I noticed a big change in the carry that I was getting from this ball. Playing the same line that was working well during the practice session, I started the first game off with 4 straight ringing ten pins. What I noticed was that there was some carry down from all of the guys during the practice session and the ball wasn't turning the corner as hard. I moved my feet a few boards right (I'm a right handed bowler)in order to create a different angle and the ball started carrying once again. I shot 2-teen the first game (5 ten pins overall), 226 on the next pair (I left 2 ten pins), 279 on the pair following that (I left a stone nine pin in the 5th frame) and then I shot another 2-teen on the 4th pair.

I bowled fairly well the first 4 games I threw this ball, made about $250 in pots, brackets and a 5th place finish in the tournament which more than paid for the ball so I'm happy!

My opinion so far for the T-Road Solid is that its a very hard hitting bowling ball as long as you catch the dry! On clean backends, the ball makes its turn very hard and is explosive as it drives through the pocket. Once oil has carried down a little bit, the ball still hooks off the oil but enters the pocket somewhat flat, leaving corner pins.

Aside from that, I can already see that this ball is going require some extra maintenance as far as cleaning. Being that this ball has a dull finish, in the 4 games that I put on it; it looked as if I had thrown 40 games. It really sucked up the oil! I'm going to try to get in the habit of using the Storm Reacta Clean ball cleaner each time after I use this ball.

Being a huge fan of all of Storm's previous Thunder releases I was more than excited to try out the T-Road Solid!
Just looking at performance alone, this ball is truly amazing. The Thunder core used in the T-Road Solid has been proven time and time again. Its pairing with the R2S solid coverstock is a match made in heaven. This ball is a monster on oil. Even rolling and predictable with outstanding carry.
Without even looking at price, the T-Road Solid stands up to any other ball on the market on heavy oil. It takes incredibly well to surface changes. Add some polish and this ball is an entirely different animal.
At this price point the T-Road Solid is the best ball on the market, in my opinion. This ball is definitely not "Mid-performance," but high-performance at an amazing price! Storm has proven themselves once again, as they always do.
Get yourself a T-Road Solid and you'll understand why it was 2007's Ball of the Year!
Bowl up a Storm!

Been bowling with the T-Road Solid now for three months and have been very disappointed with its performance. Ball lays flat in all conditions and has little pop in the pocket. This ball polishes out very quickly and needs to be sanded on a regular basis. I have this ball for three months and it looks and performs like its three years old. Save your money. I bought this ball about a month ago. I had it drilled a little agressive but not much, i wanted to be able to control it on the house shot. I 'was' a down and in bowler, until i threw this the first time. I know have to wheel it in. and it does a great job. I have about four lines to the pocket depending on the conditions. I can throw from the 14/8 to the 8/4 depending on the break down. As the night moves on it only takes a few minor adjustments to keep hitting the pocket. If you hit it flush it destroys the ins, and light will still get you a strike with all the pin carry. My sport shot league starts this week and I am looking forward to its performance then too. I only wish I would of had this ball at the beginning of league. I know my average would of easily been in the 190's. Very controllable and very dependable.

it does require a lot of cleaning, but hey, spend the money on a good ball you need to take care of it. This is an A+ in my book, thinking about getting the Hy-road to compliment it.

Reads great, holds true, and hits like a semi.

I drilled it 4\" x 4\". PAP is 5 1/4\" x 1/4\" up. This drilling provides a smooth and continuous arc. I have thrown it with box finish as well as 500 grit and both roll very well. Ball reacts nicely to surface changes and gives you many options. I have used it mainly on longer, heavy sport shots. Also have thrown it on broken down house and sport patterns. It picks up a roll early but does not over hook. Retains energy very well and has great hitting power. Ball is very durable and shows no signs of dying like you see out of some sanded solids. I love this ball! The T-Road solid cuts through the oil and hits like a freight train going full speed ahead. I picked this up after bowling with the T-Road Pearl and quickly realized I needed the Solid to get the one-two punch I was looking for in the mid-performance range. I needed something different after using an entry-level ball for about a year and half. I'm so glad I chose the T-Roads to help me up my game.

I throw my ball fairly straight and have it drilled up in the basic layout. This ball still gets the job done for me, even on drier lane conditions. After using this ball I fell in love with Storm bowling balls. I would most definitely recommend this ball to anyone looking to add another great ball to the arsenal.

Great Job Storm, you truly are "The Bowler's Company"

4" x 4", pin in ring finger

The T-Road Solid is good ball when you’re looking for consistency. It reads the mid-lane well thanks to its rougher surface yet still rolls hard on the back end. I would say this ball fits in between the Hy-Roads sharp back end roll and the Dimension’s smooth arch. This ball is good for medium oil patterns where you want strong back end reaction but can’t afford the ball to skid too far before it hits the breakpoint. I like to use this ball on medium length patterns where you have to play out towards the gutter but rather directly.

I suggest this ball for players who are looking for something that hits the back end hard but also rolls smoothly on the mid-lane

I've had this ball for a while. This is a good ball if you don't mind sanding it every 10-15 games. Finishes strong on dry, but on fresh oil forget about it. Hits hard when hooking though. Did you find this review helpful? Yes No

Wow what a sick ball. It really does turn the corner on oil.

I'm in two leagues with fresh house shots-medium to heavy oil on both. This ball never fails to hit the pocket. Crazy pin carry even when you miss your mark. I am a stroker with med revs, play second arrow, ball speed around 15-16mph, right handed had it drilled a label drill (thanks to Jim Lizzo from Bowlers Touch @ Sheridan Lanes in Mineola, NY.) Have a 165 ave. since this ball been averaging around the 200's 4 six hundred series in a row. I just watch this thing kill the pins and laugh! Thanks Storm for a great, great ball!
