Turn and Burn with the newest addition to the Raw Hammer series.

Pin to PAP(5 1/8" over 1/8" up) - 4 1/2" under ring
Mass Bias Position - n/a
CG Placement - just under and to the right of center of grip
Balance Hole - none

Surface Preparation - Out of Box (4000 grit Abralon / Powerhouse Factory Finish)

What I Was Looking For In This Ball Layout:
The Raw Hammer series has always been a consistent series of mid price performance bowling balls. We were looking for a basic layout to let me read what this ball can do and hopefully get past this bright yellow color that Hammer chose.

One thing is for sure if this turns out to be a winner for Hammer there will be no missing it on the lanes.

What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout:
I ended up with a really good ball reaction kind of as I expected. There has not been a Raw Hammer that has let me down yet. I compare this line to the Vortex line that Ebonite used to have, every ball is a solid piece
of equipment that lets you play a variety of angles with the same good ball motion.

The Burn was a little tough to read at first since the color is hard to pick up going down the lane. Once my eyes adjusted to the color and swirl patterns you could tell how hard this ball was working going down the lane. Very smooth
from the heads into the transition part of the lane with plenty of energy stored for the back end portion.

Overall ball reaction was solid and I think this ball will play well for a majority of bowlers out there looking for a solid ball reaction from a mid-priced pearlized ball.

About the Bowler

Surface Preparation:
Out of Box (4000 grit Abralon / Powerhouse Factory Finish)

Layout:
I tried a different drilling layout than the others. It was kind of a modified Rico drilling.

Overall Performance:
I feel this is a great ball for their Advanced Performance line of bowling balls. After using this bowling ball in league, I feel that the video doesn't do this ball justice. I would like to shoot another one soon, time permitting.

Ball Motion:
The ball motion look was very smooth and predictable. If I could get my wrist and fingers healed up and to be as predictable as this bowling ball, then I would be set.

Ball Color:
The color is a little rough on the eyes at first. It is a little hard to see the ball movement because of it, but I feel many people will like it because of the fact that it sort of plays tricks on your eyes.

I was a little leary about buying this ball since the last Hammer ball I had was a BLUE HAMMER! I haven't really liked any of the new balls and only for that reason, never gave them a chance. I saw this ball and figured, what the heck, I'll give them a try again. I had this drilled for a nice even arc but, this ball actually got down the lane and then snapped! Its a 2 inch pin and the top weight is only 2-3 ounces. I think if you drill it to go long and snap, it will only make to abrupt of a turn. I absolutely love this ball and the layout my driller persuaded me to go with. Great Ball. By the way, I have a 211 average and bowl all over California and Vegas.

Not overly impressed with the Hammer Burn bowling ball. The color is yucky but the roll is just ok. I am really looking forward to the new Widow, hopefully they found their way again. I should have saved my money, this ball does nothing that my blue Vibe doesn't do.

Hammer has been making me very good products every year. I have been on Staff with Hammer for a very long time. This ball is very wicked, and in wicked i mean alot of carry, and backend, and power. This ball can come back from anywhere. I love this ball. Go out and get yourself a Burn. "Nothing Hits Like a Hammer"

I've never carried corner pins like this. This ball goes long a drives really hard on the backends. For someone who throws a nice smooth arc, but wants to add just a little more to their game, I highly recommend.

Layout: 5 1/8 x 4 (pin above bridge and cg slightly kicked out)
Desired reaction: I wanted this ball to go longer down lane, clear the heads and make a strong even move to the pocket late in the day on collegiate sport patterns.

Actual reaction: This ball far exceeded my expectations. Out of the box this ball was very strong in the backend. It cleared the heads very easily and when it encountered friction, it began rolling and just drove through the pins. Hammer did an excellent job with this ball as they continue with the Raw hammer series. This ball is 3-5 boards less in the back end than the Jacked. This ball handles line changes well and makes it back from almost anywhere on the lane.

On house shots: This ball gave me a great look on typical house shots. Allowed me to stay in the 15-10 range giving me miss room right and some hold left. Hitting power was still strong and maintained even roll. Great job hammer

The Hammer Raw Burn is a great ball for the price. The color makes it easy to find on the ball return and once you get used to the backend power the ball has, it really is fun to watch. I bought a 14lb ball with a 3 inch pin and 3 ounces of top weight. Had it drilled to go long with the pin above and 1/2 inch to the right of the ring finger. I have been asked several times at the lanes what ball is it and how is it drilled. I am averaging 215 with it on a standard medium to oily house condition. I usually buy high performance balls but so far the Burn holds its own with my Rogue Cell and The Sauce except in really heavy oil and for less money. Really happy with the Burn and you can't go wrong with the bowlinball.com price for it. Great value for the money. The color of the ball is really cool once you get used to it.
