Put the heat on the competition with the Hot Sauce Pearl, Hammer's most dangerous ball yet.

Pin to PAP(4 1/2" over 1/2" up) - 6"
CG Placement - under middle finger
Balance Hole - n/a

Surface Preparation - Left at Box Finish (2000 Grit Abralon with Powerhouse Factory Finish Polish )

What I Was Looking For In This Layout: After throwing the original Sauce, I wanted something that was going to give me more length down the lane and a more aggressive ball motion at the breakpoint.

What I Ended Up With In This Ball Layout: My first impression was that the ball rolled well for me, but did not give me the motion I was looking for at the breakpoint. I was looking for a little more snap at the breakpoint, but it gave me a more gradual motion towards the pocket. Once I got the ball to the pocket, there was no issue in carry. This ball still hits as hard as the brand name, like a Hammer.

This ball allows me to play the lanes straighter due to the layout I used on the ball. It stores energy well and carries nicely. I ended up making a surface adjustment after a few games to increase the overall reaction. I sanded the surface to 500 grit abralon and used a light polish to finish. This allowed me to match up better to the house shot conditions that I bowl on most often. I could move in a little deeper and get the ball to read the mid lane much more.

The Hot Sauce Pearl works well for me on the medium oil patterns. If I get this on heavier patters, it doesn't match up with my speed and tends to go through the breakpoint for me. This could also be due to the layout I used on this ball. I would recommend putting a stronger layout on this ball for more reaction.

I am not sure where to go with this review. The ball rolled just ok for me. This may not be a fair review as I also tried a different layout that I am not used to. I put the pin below my middle finger, which put it further from my PAP than normal.

Overall, when I through it well, the ball hit pretty hard. It doesn't quite have the snap in the backend, so the overall motion is more smooth.

I can't complain, Hammer still make great bowling balls, this one will have a place in my arsenal.

Man what to say about this ball. The ball has some wicked backend. Took a bit for me to control this one but once I was dialed in, strike city. I wouldnt throw this on dry lanes lol.

It was Ok, I was expecting it to store the energy a bit more and then pop. It just stored and stored and stored. Did not get the back end we were looking for. Try 5 different abralon finishes with 3 different polishes after using it out of the box. It hits well just not the reaction I think most are looking for. You can get this look out of a mid priced Hammer.

i just got this ball and have thrown 3 games with it

right out of the box with no practice i threw 10 strikes

i drilled the ball to go long with backend with the pin in the center above the fingers

this is a great ball for medium lanes and has a amazing backend

I had this ball Drilled with the Strong layout. It ended up with the pin just to the right of the ring finger, and the CG kicked a bit. The reaction is very smooth on the oil, but once it hits the dry backend, LOOKOUT! The move is sharp, aggressive, and direct to the pocket. Probably the most pronounced Skid/Flip I have witnessed on a ball.

I pre-ordered this ball nearly a month ago, and I must say I was like a kid on Christmas when it arrived today and punched it up.

I wasn't sure if this would replace my Cell Pearl in my bag, but after today it's a done deal.

this ball is a perfect compliment to the original sauce. it does what its supposed to do and thats go longer than the sauce. it hits just as hard and reads the lane well in light to medium/heavy oil. i will say though that i had to sand it down to 1000 to get just a little more hook. out of the box it just went a little too long but its fine now. great ball if you want something to go long and hit hard.

First let me start by saying I probably have no right writing a review. I have not bowled in 17 years and my friends have convinced me I need to bowl in a league next winter. So I went out and bought to of the most talked about balls i could find on the web. One being the Hot Sauce Pearl.

First game no warmups with the other popular ball 179 with 2 opens one in the ninth. Not by any means the balls fault. All I was trying to do was find an approach and release I was confortable with.

Second game I switch to the Hot Sauce and move to an old familiar line. Standing with my left foot at 17 and targeting 6 I rolled a clean game for 218. This ball did exactly what it was advertised to do. Go long and hook hard at the back end.

Not bad for a saturday afternoon with two birthday parties flanking me and years of rust on my game. This ball gave me room to miss both inside my target and out.

Next time I shoot the set with this ball and see what I can do.

In practice, right after I got it, not much movement, but really nice backend, all strikes... Warmup for leagues samething, but I still wasn't adjusted to the new fitting, grips and all... Once I got used to it, and started throwing the way I'm used to, nothing but 4, 5, 7, and 10 pins. I was like a german yelling no all night, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9,... 204 Ave, first night with it, 501 series. I'm hoping once I get a track in the ball and get more than 4 games on it, the carry will improve, but after the first night, it seemed like the more rev's put on it, the worse the carry got. I'm going to sue hammer for false advertising, be cause the only thing that got burned was my average. I'll give it a couple more weeks, about 12 more games, and will give an update to this reveiw, but first impression, if you don't throw a lot of revs, it'll probably work, but if you do, expect to shoot a lot of single pin spares... Look for an update in a week or two.
