I laid out the Elite bowling Blue Alien the same as my Black Widow, Black Widow Pearl and my Fury. Pin is 5 inches from my PAP with the CG kick an inch right of my center line on the mid line. The Blue Alien hooks no less than 11 boards less than any of these other bowling balls. Tried different surfaces, no help.
Observation: Who comes up with the suggested retail on this ball. The top of line bowling ball are half what elite bowling states. I really thought that there was some type of regulation against what they are doing. Maybe GM could triple the price of all their cars and then sell them at half off. Buyer beware. Also, why does elite participate in the Bowlers Journal bowling ball analysis? Something to hide. I did not get this from bowlers paradise I got it from bowling, they told me I had to call the main company for a refund and when I called them they told me to call the place where I bought it. Being honest and moral is a good way to live. I would not recommend that you buy this ball unless you can get it for under $75.00, about what it should sell for based on its performance.

When looking through this site, bowlingball.com, where I now do all my shopping, I came across these balls. I applaud bowlingball.com for putting the elite line up for comparison purposes. The elite brand has again and again refused to participate in the Bowlers Journal annual testing, I wonder why? We all know why, they don't want you to know the truth. I no longer shop at either of the two bowling online e-tailer that have neither the good conscience or personal morals to stop selling this ball as a high priced cure all, when it is common knowledge that it is simply parts of older balls reassembled. Shame on the sites that sell these, evil has a way of coming back on itself though. bowlingball.com is honest and upstanding and the only place I would shop. Thanks for all the info. Also, how long is technology supposed to be cutting edge. elite has been around with the same ball for a few years and still calling them new releases. Guess that is what happens when you can't sell them. elite bowling has pulled some fast ones over the years, there truly is a sucker born every minute.

Way over priced. A friend gave me one that they had purchased, not a bad roll, certainly not worth the supposed $300.00 price tag. This ball would probably do well if it was at the $90.00 price point where I think it belongs. Nothing special here, just another ball made by a maker manufacturer for private label use. Buyer beware.

I don't own the ball but come ON. Who really thinks a ball can be that different. Brunswick makes this ball. It's nothing special. Don't be conned into the high price. The website who sell this ball have a problem, they love money more than their morals. EVER WONDER WHY THE MAKER OF THE BLUE ALIEN BOWLING BALL ALWAYS DECIDES NOT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ANNUAL BOWLER'S JOURNAL ANALYSIS.

The roll of this bowl is just OK, kind of similar to my mid to low performance bowling balls. I would give it a 1.5 or 2. However, the price of the ball is just silly. Come on, are the balls sold with the notion that there is a sucker born every minute. I got this from a friend who got the free ball with it. Some free ball, he could have bought two of the top performing balls in the market today and still had $80.00 left over. I give the ball a one because of the marketing stating that it will out hook anything, it doesn't, and the price. Save your money and get a ball that is marketed and made by a leading company. I had to be honest and get this of my conscience.

Now I have to agree that these balls are all quite over-priced. That is why I bought mine off eBay for $100. Everyone saying this ball doesn't hook as much as the other top end balls is either not using Elite's recommended surface preparations (they have a whole chart based on your speed, revs, and rotation then compared to the shot) or just has no hand in the ball. I also have a Columbia 300 Big Shot which is rated over 210 on the perfect scale and my Blue Alien hooks just as much as that. I recently bowled a tournament on the Shark pattern and used my Blue Alien at box finish to get through the first 4 games averaging well over 200 on a shot most people average in the low 170-180s. So the ball does its job if you drill/prepare it as specified...and it carries anything. That said it is still worth less than $200. Elite needs to seriously rethink their pricing and marketing...but they still make quality products.

I had to write a quick review. If you are even reading this thank goodness you took the time to do some research. Ever wonder why all the MAJOR ball manufacturers sell their bowling balls for half the price of this ball. Elite bowling comes with a major "BUYER BEWARE" or maybe how about just "BUYER USE COMMON SENSE". Please do some research and save a couple hundred dollars. Come on this industry is having enough trouble without this brands attempt to find one that is born every minute. By the way this ball is also way last years news. Not even a new release.

I purchased this ball earlier in the year and I really don't care too much about it. I lucked out and bought the ball for a promotional price. It seemed kind of like a shady deal at the time because I bought it for under $90, and now I've found out why.

The lane conditions have to be absolutely perfect for this ball, otherwise it is flat out uncontrollable and unpredictable. The advertisement for this ball stated that it is meant for oily conditions, but it's only good for medium conditions and on wooden lanes it fares pretty well. But if your on a synthetic lane forget it! This ball is terrible on synthetic lanes, and if you crank it really hard you might be able to get it to break ten boards if your lucky, no matter how heavy the oil is.

In total, I only have about $130 invested in this ball. I feel bad for the people who have paid the full price for this thing. Elite should have definitely tested this ball more before putting it out, and now they've come out with the red alien so soon? I'll never by an Elite brand bowling ball again, I'm sticking with Storm and Brunswick!

this ball is a lot better than the reviews its getting. i got mine used and would never pay the money for a new one but its still a good ball. i would say its more of a mid line performance ball at a top of the line price. ok hook and hits pretty hard. gave me some good games and lets me play the lanes a little more straight up. soaks up tons of oil though so you have to clean it often.
