Super Shell 1.0 is an all new coverstock for the Ebonite Brand. Continuing the innovations that were introduced with the GB covers in the One series and the Traxion covers that we introduced in the NV series, Super Shell pushes ball performance to new heights while also being the most durable cover that we have introduced to date, that's why it is SUPER SHELL 1.0!

The Flat Iron Core that we are introducing to the market offers a few unique properties. As a result, the core numbers are slightly different than any other ball that Ebonite has introduced to date.

Features:

  • Core Design: Flat Iron Asymmetric
  • Mass Bias Strength: 0.022
  • Mass Bias Location: 6 3/4” from the pin
  • Coverstock Name: Super Shell 1.0
  • Box Finish: Sanded with 4000 Grit Abralon Pad
  • Length: (Ebonite scale of 1 to 50, earliest to latest) - 19
  • Overall Hook: (Ebonite scale of 1 to 50, least to most) - 48
  • Breakpoint Angle: (Ebonite scale of 1 to 15, most smooth to most angular) - 12.00

The Perfect Scale™: Helping Bowlers Make Better Decisions. Because each manufacturer uses a different method for indicating a ball's hook potential, bowlingball.com developed a way for the consumer to compare bowling balls across all manufacturers.

About the Bowler
Bowling Hand    Right Handed
League Average    198
Sport Shot Average    170
Ball Speed    Medium
Style    Stroker

I'm only about a 170-180 average bowler, and a stroker with medium ball speed. Since adding the Striking Motion to my arsenal, I've become much more consistent and consistently shooting higher sets. Before where I'd shoot 520s and 530s, now I'm hitting 570s and 580s. My first game at a tournament with it was 240. I'd recommend this ball for any down and in bowler, for any lane condition.

The SM seems to be a no nonsense ball that provides me a large area of play with exceptional carry regardless of where I hit in the pocket. I am a 55 year old 90% disabled veteran right-handed tweener with medium revs and a ball speed average approaching 16-16.5 and a 204 average. The centers I bowl in typically have a medium to dry league shot that immediately begins to transition. Out of box the SM was challenged during league play. A single coat of Ebonite Factory Finish Polish worked wonders. In local tournament play the out of box SM was awesome. League and local tournament averages with SM are between 220-240. Looking forward to trying it on our sports patterns and at the USBC Open.

I am very impressed with Ebonite's Striking Motion. I have mine drilled with the pin 3 1/2 inches from my axis above my ringer finger, the CG kicked out with a hole, and the mass bias 1 inch away from my thumb. My very first game with it, which was also my first game in league, was a 300. I ended the series with an 835 (300,256,279). It is a four game league and the fourth game was a 233. What impressed me most was that I was able to stay with it the entire 4 games, only running into trouble the end of the fourth game. I usually have a little bit of trouble at this center because there tends to be a lot of friction there and the higher end equipment tends to burn up, but the Striking Motion allowed me to stay with the same ball and just continue to move, while not losing any hitting power. Anyone who is looking for a ball with great hitting power that continues as the lanes break down should seriously consider this ball.

We had demo night with this ball in league. 32 people got the opportunity to throw this ball. I had 3 guys on my team throwing it, as well as 3 guys next to us. I am the stroker in the group on my lane as I have ball speed at 18+ with a ton of revs. How this ball matched up to my Total NV was like pitting a truck against a Kia. I played 5 boards right with the Striking Motion and left numerous corner pins. After the first game, I gave the ball back after throwing a 164. My next two games went 278 and 258. The guy on the lane next to me throws a tad slower but uses a very similar style to me. He did the same thing by giving the ball back. His last game was 300 with a Complete NV. The only person in our house who raved about this ball played up and in with little revs and about 15 mph ball speed. I am not impressed with this ball at all.

I also used this ball at Bowling world in Fort Smith Arkansas during the preview on my league. I also bowled three 225+ games with no warm up and never have thrown the ball before. I loved the ball personally, it was VERY consistent, scary consistent if you hit your mark, Very powerful when contacting the pins. I also won one that night so I too am waiting on them to ship. I currently am throwing the ORIGINAL reactive ball, the sumo, so that tells you what I am comparing it to personally for reference.

Im a cranker that plays 10 out so this ball was perfect when shined a lot. I got it drill leverage weight and it has a massive midlane move and explosive backend. also a ton of power through the pin deck. If you get a chance to get this ball. Buy 2 or 3. you wont be disappointed.

I am not much of a bowler, and I guess I shouldn\\\'t be the one to judge any ball. I haven\\\'t bowled in 40 years. My son asked me to go bowling with him, so I went. I forget how much fun it really is. Ofcause I bowled a poor 137 and 129. When I was in my 20\\\'s I only bowled a 156 average, and I never bowled a 200 in my life, and thats the truth. My 5th game with this ebonite ball I bowled a 199, and my 8th game was a 205. I know its not me it has to be this ball.
My ball is a 13lbs ball drilled out to hook as much as possible. This ball is really great. Thanks Ebonite.

I threw my fourth series with this ball yesterday and shot an 809 (265, 265, 279)! My first 800 series. I threw 31 out of 34, two open frames, and a spare (I use a different spare ball).
It reacts strong and provides great pin action. I am a medium speed, left-handed, stroker who averages about 205-210 on normal house conditions.
I strongly recommend this ball. I swear by Ebonite and once again, I wasn't disappointed. Pick it up at the basement bargain rate while you can.
