I've had my Columiba Ricochet A1 EPX bowling ball for about a month now, and I've had some great games. I play with low revs and moderate ball speed and on heavier oil, this ball will come around for me. However, it started losing its reaction after about 15-20 games. The trick is on the epoxy coverstock. it soaks up oil at an amazing rate. I did some searching and soaking the ball in scalding water for about 10 minutes will pull all the oil out of the coverstock, and make it just like it was out of the box. It needs some care, but it hits hard.

As the write up says, I'm the only one to own one of these Columbia balls. Drilled strong for lower revs/ball speed. pin @ 3 & 3/8, cg in and down towards the thumb. Ball reacts and hits great, but is not the big hooker the ad says it should be (perfect scale 206). Not really a problem, but if you rely on that as a hook ref, it does not equate. Worth the $69 I paid for it.

This is my second season throwing this ball. I am a high speed, high rev player and I bowl a lot of different houses and lane conditions, ranging from rec shots all the way through PBA shots on both wood and synthetic. This is by far the best back-end ball I have ever thrown on any lane condition. I have it drilled with a leverage pattern. If you are a lower speed bowler or not accurate enough to play a strong angle, you might want to try a different ball! If you are a "grip it and rip it" bowler, IMHO this is one of the best balls on the market!

I now have 2 of the Columbia 300 Ricochet A1 EPX bowling balls. I also have 2 of the EPX T1's. This bowling ball is the best ball I have used. I have tried others and always come back to this ball. The EPX ball hits hard, carries very well, clears the front part of the lane and hooks when others won't. These balls do require some maintenance, but after 10 - 20 minutes of a scalding hot bath and cleaning; the ball returns to the out of the box condition. I did have one crack around the finger and thumb holes, but Columbia replaced it with no questions asked. They are ugly and have an odor, but when they are busting the pins everyone takes notice. The last A1 I had drilled according to the high rev pattern. I waited to break the new ball out until I was in a tournament. I shot a 685, the ball more than paid for itself. If the ball is set up correctly, you won't have a better ball in your bag than the EPX A1 or the EPX T1. I know that I don't.

I just got my Columbia Ricochet A1 EPX, let me tell you if you want a ball that you can roll with good speed and still get a great reaction, this is it. I usually throw Ebonite's The Big One when their flooded on the outside this ball will still make the turn without having to slow it down. My ball speed is at 15.5 to 16.5 average this ball is great straight up the 10 board. This ball will wack em.
