Perfect Rival Specs
The Perfect Rival was developed to complement both the Rival and Arch Rival in terms of total hook. This is the third ball in the series and features another great shell developed by the chemists at EBI called â€?"Perfect 300â€. The chemistry produces more friction than the Arch Rival's 300 Plus, but less than the original shell on the Rival. Perfect 300, combined with our proven Spinner core, produce a ball that is great when there is oil left of your target line out of the box, and with some polish will outperform both previous models on the backend of the lane.
Specs:
- Core: Spinner Symmetric
- Veneer: Perfect 300
- Surface: 4000 Abralon
- RG: (15lbs) 2.470
- Differential: (15lbs) 0.045
The Perfect Scale™: Helping Bowlers Make Better Decisions. Because each manufacturer uses a different method for indicating a ball's hook potential, bowlingball.com developed a way for the consumer to compare bowling balls across all manufacturers.

I got the ball laid out 5 x 4 which gives me good length and a very hard rolling motion.
I have about 20 games on the ball already, 12 on a THS, and 7 on sport conditions. I have to say this ball is amazing. It has no problems getting through the heads, even at it's box 4000 finish. It's a fairly low RG ball so you see it start to rev up in the mid-lane. When it makes it's motion off the dry, it absolutely destroys the pin deck.
With the combination of this coverstock, core, and the layout used, I am able to play multiple angles with this ball and still carry well. On a house pattern I've been able to play the track area, as well as deep inside. On the PBA Scorpion pattern I could have played across 5 different arrows with the ball.
If you're a cranker, you'll probably want a weaker drilling.
If you throw it slow, you'll want to polish it for sure.
I can see potential for using this ball in any Medium to Heavy oil condition. I could possibly see it being used in a Medium-Light condition with some polish, but I wouldn't recommend it for extremely dry conditions.
This ball seems to be a hidden gem. I don't see many people throwing it but it's an incredibly solid performer at a good price.
