Predictable power is the best way to describe the new Python. With a more direct line of attack on the lane, a fast revving core and constricting power on the pins, the Python provides a secure ball reaction at the Advanced Performance price point. For the bowler who wants to play straighter angels with predictable power, get a Python and squeeze the life out of your opponent.

Technology

EnMotion Coverstock: The Python is the first ball with EnMotion coverstock available at the Advanced Performance price point. The Python uses a Pearlized version of the EnMotion coverstock. EnMotion combines the best elements from our PowrKoil Activator and N'Control coverstock systems.

Low RG Core: The Python core uses and updated version of the Original Inferno. However, the weight distribution between the inner core and outer core has been adjusted to raise the overall RG, so even with its aggressive EnMotion coverstock, the Python will clear the fronts, rev in the mid-lane and devour the pins with one big bite.

High Gloss Finish: The Python is finished with Brunswick's Factory Finish High Gloss Polish to maximize the skid-snap reaction out of the box. This surface preparation will allow most bowlers to match-up to freshly oiled and moderately broken down house conditions.

Reaction Characteristics

Out of the Box: With its high gloss polish surface, the Python matches up well on most house conditions.

When Dulled: The Python's hooking action will increase and its arc will become more even, creating a better match-up for medium-oily lane conditions and for smoothing over/under reactions that are sometimes encountered on wet/dry lane conditions.

Reaction Setup

The Python can be drilled using the standard drilling techniques developed for two-piece balls. Please view the drilling layouts link near the top of the page for layout details. The Python is surfaced with Brunswick's Factory Finish High Gloss Polish which increases its skid-snap characteristics. Shiny surface finishes can sometimes skid too long, resulting in reduced backend reaction and hitting power. To increase traction, roughen the surface with Brunswick's Factory Finish Rough Buff.

The Perfect Scale™: Helping Bowlers Make Better Decisions. Because each manufacturer uses a different method for indicating a ball's hook potential, bowlingball.com developed a way for the consumer to compare bowling balls across all manufacturers.

Brunswick Python is a advanced performance with a 170 on the perfect scale. This ball is great when the lanes break down and you need a clean roll through the heads. Also gives you control in the back end but does not lose hit.

LAYOUT: Pin 4" from PAP below the fingers, with x-hole down VAL, factory surface. I tend to like this layout when I know the cover produces length just to smooth out the break point.

CONDITIONS BOWLED ON: First two nights on older synthetic lanes with typical house condition (except there's an out-of-bounds). Third time was on the ABT National pattern (good volume, but very playable).

The thing that stands out to me on this ball is the strong recovery and carry. I have been able to open up the lane much more than I expected, because as soon as it sniffs some friction it's VERY strong. Not as skid/snappy as the Rattler, just a great finishing angle. Perhaps on some Anvilane I will be playing more direct, but so far I'm pleasantly surprised.

For me, although it has the same cover as the Twisted Fury, there's more "forgiveness" with this one, probably due to the core design. I've had several comments as to how nice the ball looks on the lanes with the colors, too. Brunswick has delivered OUTSTANDING performance with this ball that compliments the Copperhead and Rattler very nicely with a meager price tag!

this ball exceeded my expectations after trying it in a broken down pattern and a fresh shot found it effective in both conditions. the ball has a 3-4 in. pin. ball layout is pin left of ring finger with cg kicked in under fingers no balance hole. we got this ball to set up at midlane with a controllable but strong move through the pin deck great ball from brunswick

I got this ball about one week ago, I find it to be a very good ball. Doesn't have a much hook as my Solid Levrg. However I find myself using it more than the Levrg. Shot my highest score ever with it last night. I'm still learning the game so my next review will be more informed

What do you get when you marry a great old Brunswick core (Original Inferno) with an outstanding current coverstock (Enmotion Reactive - Twisted Fury)? The answer - You get a value priced pin killing time machine. This one is great on medium oily house conditions. It thrives on stronger backends. Angles are still easily opened on moderate carrydown when moves inside are required.

Length, Backend, hitting power!!! Amazing, and the colors of this ball are fun to watch!! This ball is super clean through the front part of the lanes and the move is not real jumpy. Nice predictable motion with a ton of hitting power. Best on medium to dry lane conditions.

This is a very nice ball. I bought it 2 weeks ago. I went to practice bowled 7 games and on my 7th game I shot a 300. This ball will hold a line good and is easy to control. It is a hard hitting ball.

This is my second Python. My first one had a 4 1/2 inch pin. That ball goes very long but still hits hard. This second Python I just got has a 2 1/2 inch pin...I wanted something that will hook earlier and allow me to play the middle part of the lane. I got just what I wanted! Even though it hooks earlier, there's no problem getting this ball down the lane.
