To expand the Inferno line, Brunswick engineers set out to create a Inferno that delays its hooking action further down the lane while retaining the recovery and hard arcing back-end reaction the Inferno line is known for.

That ball is the Intense Inferno featuring Activator+ coverstock

Activator+ is a version of Activator coverstock technology that is a better match-up for the medium RG core system designed to delay the Intense Inferno's hooking action. More aggressive in the mid-lane and back-ends. Activator+ has a "Stuck to the Lane" quality that improves mid-lane recovery and the ability to handle carry down when compared to any coverstock Brunswick has used on a medium RG ball.

The Intense Inferno uses a new medium RG, medium differential Inferno family core that complements the Activator+ coverstock increased traction creating the most angular Inferno to date.

Smoothly blended lane conditions will especially showcase the mid-lane traction qualities of Activator+. Broken down lane conditions will find the Intense Inferno's medium RG core providing length and the Activator+ coverstock cutting through the carry down. The Intense Inferno's "Stuck to the Lane" quality will help improve pin carry on lane conditions that cause other balls to lose traction and hit.

The Perfect Scale™: Helping Bowlers Make Better Decisions. Because each manufacturer uses a different method for indicating a ball's hook potential, bowlingball.com developed a way for the consumer to compare bowling balls across all manufacturers.

I bought this ball for my weak / dry lane ball. I had the ball drilled with the pin at 5 1/2 inches from PAP and above bridge. The ball does exactly what it was intended to do, it gets down the lane even when the heads burn up and makes a very aggressive turn on the back end. The drilling I have certainly will not work on much oil unless you have a lot of hand, but I did not want a big hook out of mine. The only downside is the ball is not real forgiving. I also had the same statement from a friend of mine who has one. It will not hook in the oil if pulled and can over react if gotten in the dry to quick. All in all a good ball again.

This ball was OK for me but I think I throw to hard for it. I sold it to a guy on my Monday night men's league team and he loves it. It's Ultimate Inferno for me all the way! I'm really thinking about trying a Fury Pearl or maybe a Columbia 300 Big Hit or Resurgence. But if you throw slow the Intense Inferno might just work for you.

I've had the Brunswick Intense Inferno ball for about 3 years and I have very few complaints about it. For starters I used to play an out, down and in shot but it does not work in medium to heavy oil. As I began to increase my speed on the ball I played a more down and in shot. This was great for me.
I do recommend this ball for a down and in shot as it works great. It's more for medium to light oil though. It should hook through medium oil with no problem if used over the second or third arrow.
