Copperhead Specs
The Copperhead targets one of the most popular reactions in the bowling ball industry, Reactive Solid Sanded. This type of ball reaction is embraced by many bowlers as the best all-around combination of coverstock and surface finish. Providing high hook potential with a controllable ball reactions and good pin carry.
Technology
Aggressive Reactive Coverstock: PowrKoil 18 coverstock is a proven performer that has probably been on more bowling balls than any other Reactive coverstock in the bowling industry. PowrKoil 18 has been used on some of Brunswick's most successful balls including the Danger Zone, Red Alert and BVP Nemesis. Aggressive in the oil and strong off the dry, PowrKoil 18 is a perennial favorite among all styles of bowlers.
Low RG Rocket Core: The Copperhead uses Brunswick's Multi-Sided Rocket Core System which provides a low RG to help the ball rev-up sooner and create tremendous mid-lane recovery.
800-Grit Wet Sand Finish: The Copperhead is finished with an 800-grit wet sand finish which will allow most bowlers to match-up to both freshly oiled and moderately broken down house conditions. Plenty of traction on all but the oiliest lanes combined with a strong backend reaction. The low Rg, combined with the 800 grit finish, helps the Copperhead bite the lane quicker and send poison to the pins.
Reaction Characteristics
•Out of the Box: With its 800-grit wet sand surface, the Copperhead matches up well on most medium to oily house conditions.
• When Dulled: The Copperhead's hooking action will increase and its arc will become more even, creating a better match-up for oily lane conditions and for smoothing over/under reactions seen on wet/dry lane conditions.
• When Shined: With either Brunswick's Factory Finish “High Gloss Polish” or “Rough Buff”, your Copperhead will go longer in the oil and react stronger to the dry creating a more skid/snap arc. High Gloss Polish creates more length than Rough Buff.
Reaction Setup
The Copperhead can be drilled using the standard drilling techniques developed for two-piece balls, see the drilling instructions link below for reaction characteristics and layout details.
The Copperhead is finished with a dull 800-grit surface which increases its hooking action in the oil. Dull surface finishes can sometimes hook too early resulting in reduced backend reaction and hitting power. To increase length, polish the surface with Brunswick's Factory Finish Rough Buff. To increase length and create and even more skid/snap reaction use Brunswick's Factory Finish High Gloss Polish.
The Perfect Scale™: Helping Bowlers Make Better Decisions. Because each manufacturer uses a different method for indicating a ball's hook potential, bowlingball.com developed a way for the consumer to compare bowling balls across all manufacturers.

I recently drilled one for a customer. Pin below the fingers in the middle and cg directly under the pin (1-2" pin). The reaction that he got was clean thru the heads, good roll in the mid lane and a controllable arc on the back end (box finish).About the Bowler Bowling Hand Right Handed League Average 205 Ball Speed Medium Style Cranker PAP 4 1/2 over 1/2 up
I polished it for him and the reaction he got was about 2' more skid and more of a snap on the back end.
I would recommend this ball to any looking for a performance ball at mid performance price

BALL FINISH 4000 ABRALON
PIN TO PAP 5 1/2 @ 45* NO HOLE
Its STRIKING APPEARANCE and DEADLY ball reaction make this is the ball for those people who think that a ball has to be a high priced ball in order to handle heavy oil.It does not tend to burn up early (like some high priced balls do), has a strong mid lane roll, and a very controllable move towards the pocket. People with high ball speeds and low rev rates will benefit by having this ball in their bag. I love to throw this ball on fresh THS and some of the longer PBA patterns and find it hard to put away some times because I feel that I can strike every time that the ball is in my hands.

I bought my first ball used from a guy I used to bowl on a league with and I just bought the Copperhead and love it. I bowled a 130-140 with my Hammer but now I bowl a 160-180 and still getting better. This ball works great on any lane condition and where I bowl league they use very heavy oil and the Cooperhead is the only ball that can hook great in the lane on the first to last game. This is a great ball from Brunswick at a great price.

Im not going to say that i love it because this ball does take some getting use to.
I have been playing with a Brunswick rampage and an Ebonite blue ice and they dont hook that much so i wanted to purchase another ball for my arsenal.
I bought the copperhead and drilled it for long and strong pin above ring finger + 45 degrees with an x-hole. changed the surface to 2000 abrolon. This ball gets through the heads great and makes an aggressive move to the pocket.
I had to change my bowling style to handle this ball but once you find your mark theres not stopping it. it hits like a truck!!!!

I've been bowling for about 1 year. Generally I'm lucky to keep it out of the gutter. It seems like this ball stays out of the gutter more and doesn't look too bad either. I don't have hooking down pat and the "pro" at our shop won't show anyone anything without some green but I can get it to hook and threw my best game (146) with it.

I recently purchased the copperhead not expecting much but i am very impressed with the control on this ball.Once you find your mark its there just small adjustments from there to finish out.I bowled 1 Game as a practice game after getting it drilled up and shot 187 trying to feel the ball out.then i proceeded to shoot 238,279,256 for 773 on a 39" house shot.I would recommend this ball to someone looking for an affordable good performing ball.Way to go brunswick.I have also purchased the rattler, swarm, and sidewinder..
