Avalanche Solid Specs
Retro cores and strong reactive coverstocks define the new Avalanche series from Brunswick. Using proven core technology from the Teal Rhino Pro and some of Brunswick's most well know coverstocks, the Avalanche delivers unprecedented value to the bowling customer.
Core
All Avalanche balls use the acclaimed Teal Rhino Pro light bulb core. The Teal Rhino Pro light bulb core and it's Danger Zone modification have been at the heart of two of the most successful balls of all time.
Coverstock
The Avalanche Blue Solid • Red Solid uses PowerKoil 18 Reactive, probably the most successful reactive formulation in the bowling industry, to traction more in the oil and create a higher hook potential ball than the Avalanche Blue Pearl • Silver Pearl.
The Perfect Scale™: Helping Bowlers Make Better Decisions. Because each manufacturer uses a different method for indicating a ball's hook potential, bowlingball.com developed a way for the consumer to compare bowling balls across all manufacturers.

I driiled one for a customer about a week age. He was looking for a ball that he could use on the drier conditions in the afternoon league that he bowls in. So i drilled the Avalanche Solid with the a basic label drilling with the pin at 1:30 cg in the middle of the span. The reaction that he got was clean thru the heads read the midlane good and gave him a controllable backend reaction. So if you are looking for a ball for the drier conditions then get the Brunswick Avalanche Solid.About the Bowler Bowling Hand Right Handed League Average 205 Ball Speed Medium Style Cranker PAP 4 1/2 over 1/2 up

This ball wasn't what I expected. The Avalanche Pearl is pretty aggressive. So I wanted something a little less for drier lanes. It just was too tame for my liking. Don't get me wrong. When the lanes are bone dry, pull this ball out. But when in league are you going to face that??? You might come into that situation if you are POT BOWLING with some guys after league I guess..
I am realy looking forward to the Avalanche Slide that I am punching up tonight. From what I heard it is what I was looking for!!

First of all I have to say that I had been a straight ball roller for a long time, and only averaging in the 170/180’s with the occasional 200 game now and then. I had been looking for an entry-level hook ball to help move me into the next level of play, and boy did I find it with this Avalanche.
Now mind you I’m new to all this hook stuff, but I understand the basic release and the premise of the gentle underhand spiral as compared to tossing a football underhand.
OMG, was I blown away as to how easy it was to roll this ball….and to be quite honest the ball really did all the work for me! The first three balls I threw with it were strikes, That’s right, a flipping turkey right off the drill press, and I stood there in shock, but Man Did I Have A Grin!!!
I finished out the first game with a 188….then the very next game rolled a 210 with 5 strikes in a row, which has never happened before!
I am really impressed with how comfortable it was to throw a slight hook and have this ball cut and dive back into the pocket. I can’t wait to really get use to it an see where it takes my game. I would recommend this ball to anyone who is looking for that first hook ball.

Great ball here. I am a right-handed stroker who throws the ball roughly 14 MPH. I like to play a straight down and in shot from the corner. This ball is ideal for me on a medium TPC, since it gives me just enough area to play comfortably and strike. I have been throwing this ball for awhile now and have shot some high sets with it, but because of the enamoration with aggressive balls like the VG (Went out and got one relatively early before everyone started throwing them), I put this ball away for a while and went to my VG. Don't get me wrong about the VG though, it is a great ball, but I can't play the line I like to play unless I am on a heavy oil TPC. I decided to go back to my Avalanche last week and shot 721 then 742 with it. Loved my Rhino PRO when I had one, now I love my Avalanche solid! Great medium oil ball by Brunswick.

this ball is a machine!
i bowl for my high school team, and i was lookin for a good ball to have. this is it.
i drilled strong.
this ball hooks alot for me, considering i do not use the thumb. BUT the key is it doesnt have ton of over/under, grips the lane pretty well, holds, and has a late breakpoint.
but the ball is a beast. today i played it in my match, and it was perfect. i played multiple lines with it, from across middle, 3rd arrow to 3rd arrow. 2nd to 2nd, and between. also killed revs and threw between 2nd and 3rd on right, and struck.
end result- 201. 5 strikes from left lane/5 attempts.
my friend has one, he also bowls for the high school team, and this is his 2nd ball to his ebonite playmaker. but it serves him well. doesnt have a ton of backend, drilled for lengt more then backend, and he uses this ball primarily for left side spares(hes lefty) and when the lanes are broken down. but he likess this ball, just 2nd to playmaker.
great ball for the price.
just depends on your style.
im lookin to get a slide as a weaker version, play more length rather then backend.

This review is on a great new ball from Brunswick, the Avalanche Solid!About the Bowler Bowling Hand Right Handed League Average 210 Ball Speed Medium Style Cranker PAP 4 7/8" over x 1/4" up
If you're looking for a ball for light/medium lane conditions, there's no better option than the Avalanche Solid. This ball uses some of the greatest technology of all timeat an amazing price! The Avalanche Solid has the PowerKoil 18 solid coverstock that has been used on more balls than any other coverstock in history. The Danger Zone, Monster Bruiser, Zone Red Alert and many others used the PowerKoil 18. The core in the Avalanche Solid is from another one of the greatest balls ever, the Teal Rhino Pro. With this combination there's no doubt that you'll be buying a winner!
The Avalanche Solid brings to mind one word: SMOOTH! This ball will give you an even, archy reaction throughout the whole lane. This is the perfect type of reaction for drier lanes, or when the condition is tough. You want to know exactly what the ball is going to do when you throw it, and the Avalanche Solid is as predictable as they come!
Order yourself an Avalanche Solid, you won't regret it!
Thanks again Brunswick for another great release!

The Avalanche for it's price is a great ball. For being a lower priced ball it really hits the pocket hard with great pin drive. I have used it on heavier oiled lanes and it preforms well with little hooking action. This ball will hook well on drier lane conditions. I am a huge Brunswick fan and they created a ball that suites my needs nicely. If your looking to get into the sport or just need a drier lane ball, this is the ball for you.

I recently drilled the Brunswick Avalance Solid for one of my teammates in my Thursday night Men's League. He was looking for a ball with moderate length but a smooth and consistent backend reaction. He is a high rev and high speed player. We ended up drilling the ball with the pin below his bridge and the cg kicked out 45 degrees. The ball ended up being a little strong for what he was looking for so we applied 4000 grit Abralon and Brunswick Factory Finish to the ball. This adjustment tamed the reaction just enough so the ball would fit in exactly where he wanted it to.
