The reaction and movement of the Slant is unlike any other, you might even say it's RADICAL!

Pin to PAP(5 1/8" over 1/8" up) - 4 3/4"
Mass Bias Position - just right of thumb hole
Dual Angle Layout - 55* x 4 3/4" x 40*
Balance Hole - n/a

Surface Preparation - Out of Box (Polished)

What I Was Looking For In This Ball Layout:
The Slant is the first release from a new company on the market, Radical Bowling. The founder of this company has been in the industry for sometime and has had his hand in may great ball releases.

With this knowledge we had an idea of the ball motion we would see from the Slant and we figured we would keep the layout pretty simple so that we could have it relate to how most ball drillers would lay this ball out.

From the information we had on the ball we expected to see a good amount of length with a pretty strong angle from the breakpoint. They are going for a more versatile asymmetric ball so we will see what we get from them.

What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout:
Early on in the night when the pattern was fairly fresh we saw a really good ball motion from the Slant. It got down lane clean and reacted great off the breakpoint. As I threw the ball I thought it had that benchmark ball look to it. This would be the ball that you throw in practice to get a feel for the conditions and know that you can get through a few
games with it because it has a really solid motion.

As the night went on we saw more and more motion out of the Slant and I really liked how it opened up the lane for me. During our video shoots we rotate from ball to ball and try and get a handful of shots to use on the video. For me the Slant went the quickest which meant I threw a lot of strikes with it. The ball motion just seemed to fit my game and the ball recovered from all my little misses.

Overall I think the Slant is a solid ball release and a contender in the high performance market. I am excited to see what is to come from Radical Bowling.

Radical is a new name in bowling balls, so I wasn't sure what to expect from the Radical Slant. However, they made a very smooth rolling bowling ball.

The radical slant started transitioning in the midlane for a smooth overall hook with plenty of momentum going into the pins. The crashing sound of a strike is the icing on the cake for the radical.

I played the Radical Slant bowling ball on an inside line through the oil, allowed it to transition and make it's move around the 12 board, keeping it inside the track. It is strong enough to make it's move without the dryer boards to the right of the track area.

I look forward to future releases from Radical Bowling.

Even though this is a new ball company the found has worked in the bowling industry for over 20 years, and with his vast experience comes Radical Bowling’s first release called the Slant. This ball has a low RG/medium differential core inside of a pearl reactive cover. The Slant’s box finish make it an ideal ball for medium conditions, but with some minor surface tweaks this ball will handle some higher volume patterns. If you are looking for something a little different you might want to give this ball a chance.

I had trouble getting the ball to react until I buffed off the factory polish. I dulled it with a 2000 grit abralon pad. The ball moves great now with a nice turn into the pocket after hitting the dry and it hits hard. I have the 15 lb ball.

I am more than pleased with the reaction of the slant. It rolls as strong and as hard as anything in my bag. I really couldn't tell you why I bought it but I thought I would give it a shot and I am very excited. Now averaging 12 pins higher than I was before I got the ball. Thanks bowlingball.com

The Slant is the first ball from a new company "Radical". The Slant is a good ball for medium to dry conditions but you can adjust the surface to give you more reaction on a medium to heavy lane condition with out loosing any move on the back-end. The Slant looks to a great 1st ball from Radical.
