What I Was Looking For In This Ball Layout:
Well the obvious intention with the introduction of the Black Panther was to offer another great version of the Pink Panther but for a little heavier volume.
At first glance you think this thing is going to start hooking at your toes and keep going down lane. We thought this layout would offer us a chance to see what the ball can do with a pretty simple layout and nothing too strong to get it started too early.
We fully expected the same great overall motion that we loved from the Pink Panther just stronger.
What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout:
The Black Panther is a great compliment ball to the Pink Panther or just a great ball or heavier volume patterns. From the get go of the night I had more ball motion from this ball then any other tested that evening.
The 2000 grit Abralon surface created plenty of roll in the heads and mid-lane without reading any friction too early. The Black Panther handled the oil just the way you like to see it, it did not skid through it but kept a heavy roll and once it started its motion towards the pocket there was no stopping it.
We saw absolutely no deflection from any of the shots thrown with this ball. The Black Panther just destroyed everything in its path. Not to mention I am a sucker for all black bowling balls and I think the Black Panther looks great going down the lane as well.
Lane #1 fans and anyone else looking for that great heavy oil ball will love the Black Panther.

Wow! The Black Panther bowling ball is a beast. I am watching the video back now and am just amazed at the power it has when it hits. Outside of my balance issue, the ball was extremely reactive.
I played further inside than usual, and the ball went long with a very strong backend. The angle I was play was phenomenal.
There was a smooth and predictable motion that I really liked. GREAT job Lane #1.
Black Panther from Lane #1 is a High Performance ball that is made for heavy oil. When you roll the Black Panther in oil it cuts through the oil with ease. The Matte finish gives you roll in the front and when it hits the dry you get control in the backend.

Lane 1's new release is the Black Panther. This ball uses the same core as the Pink Panther but has a new Ion cover that will handle higher oil volumes. The Black Panther creates a good solid ball motion that is strong in the mid-lane and controllable back-end move that you would expect from a ball this aggressive. This ball's aggressive nature will hunt down and ravage the pins.

This is my second Lane#1 I have purchased. And ao far my greatest. I have a 3-2 pin pap and I throw it 12 MPH. Hits dead flush almost every time. I have a 256 with this ball and hope to bowl better with it. My advice get this ball.

Great ball for any lane conditions. Work if you step in or move right and play up the boards!
The Lane #1 Black Panther is definitely a ball designed for heavier volumes of oil. The demo that I have in the shop is drilled with the pin over the ring finger and the cg just under the ring. For the customer that I let throw this, the layout came out to be 60*4.5*50. He compared this ball to his Long Shot and his Gemstone. The Black Panther was a good 7 boards stronger than both! The thing that impressed me the most was that it still cleared the fronts fairly well. Looking at this ball out of the box, it looks like it would take your shoe laces off, but that is not the case. It clears just well enough to still have a strong mid-lane motion with ALOT of continuation down lane. This ball is a must for speed dominate players! Matched and Rev Dominate players will definitely need some oil for this ball to show it's strength, unless it is polished.

The Lane#1 Black Panther is a beast. It cut right thru the oil and has plenty of back hook. If you love the Pink Panther but need a ball for the heavy oil conditions that you might encounter then get the Black Panther.
