Storm continues to develop innovative technology combined with fine workmanship.

Pin to PAP(5 1/8" over 1/8" up) - 5 1/2" above fingers
Mass Bias Position - n/a
CG Placement - center of grip
Balance Hole - none

Surface Preparation - Out of Box (4000 grit Abralon)

What I Was Looking For In This Ball Layout:
I think it is awesome that we are starting to see more reactive balls with symmetrical weight blocks. They just roll so true and really let you do so much with them as far as ball motion goes.

On to the Storm Prodigy, as you may have seen in a recent review of another reactive/symmetrical ball I chose to go with a very simple layout. I find that with the pin above my fingers about 5 1/2" from my PAP gives me the flexibility to do a lot with the ball.

With this Pearl mica cover left with a matte finish I was hoping to see the ball read the lane strong with out over reacting. My hope was that with a few games on it, it would start to kind of self polish and create a real natural skid/snap ball reaction.

What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout:
Absolutely exactly what I expected. The Prodigy rolls so true and so strong, it really reminds me of my Dimension which I loved. The Prodigy rolled strong through the heads just as I expected with the cover finish but it did not over
react as it met friction. The ball kind of checked up a little as it transitioned from the heads to mid lane but never enough to effect the drive on the backend.

Since the ball is a symmetrical core I was able to create more hook with slight adjustments to my hand position and ball speed. This is why I love this type of ball because I think it allows more options for the bowler to create other
ball motions with the same ball.

Overall I think the Prodigy is a perfect addition to Storm's ball line up and I think that this is a perfect replacement for the very popular Dimension.

As I continue to learn more about bowling ball reaction, I am noticing the transition stages from skid to hook. This is an important reaction to understand when choosing bowling equipment.

The Storm Prodigy has a very smooth and natural arcing motion. The reaction seemed very predictable and not jumpy. Tony Ruocco started pointing out much "miss" area I had with this ball because of its roll. If I tugged a little, the ball would hold its line. If I swung it out a little too far, it had enough power to catch the friction and come roaring back. Just a great overall look for this bowling ball.

The Storm line of bowling balls continues to impress me. I think the Storm Prodigy bowling ball would be a perfect compliment to the Storm Virtual Energy.

The latest ball in the the Master Line is the Prodigy which features an all-new Centripetal core. This new core allows a variety of layouts and guarantees consistent and predictable move from break point to pocket. Storm encased the new core in the R2X Pearl cover and finished it with 4000-grit Abralon thus Allowing the Prodigy to get a clean glide through the heads without sacrificing mid-lane control. This ball is not too strong for high rev players and strong enough weaker release players that the Prodigy is going to be a good benchmark ball for a good many bowlers.

FIRST OFF ...THIS BALL HITS LIKE A MAC TRUCK

I ordered this ball about 3 weeks ago and just finally got the chance to get up to a shop and get it drilled yesterday for my Tuesday night sport shot league. I got it drilled pin down under my ring finger and even with the early roll it still had a ton of energy to continue steam rolling right through the pins. Even moving as far left and shooting out to the 2nd 3rd board it had enough move to hit the pocket no problem. With this ball there is no coming in light on the pocket if anything you'll have a problem keeping the ball right.Even with as fast as i throw the ball im still a cranker and all night i had to play right in the "soup" of the lane, great ball for heavy oil. First game out i shot a 268, next game i go the front 7 then leave a solid 9 pin and strike out for a 279 then shoot a 242 the 3rd game for a 789 series. This ball has impressed me more the first night then any other ball ive previously bought, it really reminded me of my old ebonite apex addiction which was one of my favorite balls. I recommend this ball to anyone looking to get a more aggresive ball that can control the midlane and back end on some of the longer sport shots.

Layout: 55* 4.5" 30*
Surface: 4000 with polish

Since I've never previously thrown anything in the Master Line, I had to give this one a shot. Even though I'm a major fan of strong pearlized equipment, I understimated the raw strength of the prodigy as I had problems keeping the ball right regardless of how deep I tried to play on a THS in its OOB finish and 2000+polish finish. I had to step it up further to a 4000+polish finish before I started getting decent results. However, please keep in mind that this house in particular is roughly 35 feet with a mere 15ml of oil.

On a sport shot(different house)with the same ball is where the Prodigy shines. With the same finish, I had to play 5 and 2 left of where I typically play on Scorpion. Even with the mildly aggressive layout, the coverstock and surface made it easy for it to push through the oil and had a very nice hook/set reaction in the back which is perfectly fine with me. On the longer patterns I prefer this over something too angular.

Overall, this is a great addition to your arsenal if you have never had a Virtual Energy, Virtual Gravity or an Invasion. The Prodigy definitely competes with the top of the line equipment from any company.

When I joined a sport oil pattern league a couple of years ago, I was confronted with a variety of oil patterns that my arsenal was unable to effectively deal with. Long and heavy volume patterns were especially challenging for me, so upon consulting BTM and my local pro shop operator, I decided to go with a Prodigy.

The ball I purchased has a 3" pin, with 2oz of top weight. I had the ball drilled RICO to allow for larger variety of hand positions to create shots as oil patterns transitioned. The ball has been exactly what I expected...versatile enough to break down a fresh shot with a down and in line, and transition to a migrating inside line, swinging the ball and maintaining enough energy to kick out 10 pins.

With an out of box finish, this ball cuts through oil with a sharp arcing motion (as the ball has aged and "mellowed out", it has almost a skid flip look to it). This ball strongly reads the heads and midlane, so a warning to those with a lot of hand in the ball...this ball reacts STRONGLY to friction. It is designed to be a heavy oil ball, and can bounce off of friction nicely...but if the oil goes away, this ball goes back in the bag.

This has become my benchmark heavy oil ball. With it's controllable continuous arcing motion that starts in the heads/midlane, and strong finishing rack clearing power it's found a permanent home in my bag for heavy volume and long oil patterns.

This ball has a good chance to be the best ball I ever owned. I can't get over the fact on how much control you can have on a ball with so much power, it has a great backend to it and seems to never miss the pocket

Tried this ball on storms demo day. Without a doubt the best ball that day. Great ball for alot of bowlers who bowl in the soup. Very strong in the midlane and continues through the pins with no deflections what so ever.If you have NO hand a great ball for you. Crankers would have to kill their shot. Getting mine before the fall league starts.
