Turn and Burn with the newest addition to the Raw Hammer series.

Pin to PAP(5 1/8" over 1/8" up) - 4 1/2" under ring
Mass Bias Position - n/a
CG Placement - just under and to the right of center of grip
Balance Hole - none

Surface Preparation - Out of Box (4000 grit Abralon / Powerhouse Factory Finish)

What I Was Looking For In This Ball Layout:
The Raw Hammer series has always been a consistent series of mid price performance bowling balls. We were looking for a basic layout to let me read what this ball can do and hopefully get past this bright yellow color that Hammer chose.

One thing is for sure if this turns out to be a winner for Hammer there will be no missing it on the lanes.

What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout:
I ended up with a really good ball reaction kind of as I expected. There has not been a Raw Hammer that has let me down yet. I compare this line to the Vortex line that Ebonite used to have, every ball is a solid piece
of equipment that lets you play a variety of angles with the same good ball motion.

The Burn was a little tough to read at first since the color is hard to pick up going down the lane. Once my eyes adjusted to the color and swirl patterns you could tell how hard this ball was working going down the lane. Very smooth
from the heads into the transition part of the lane with plenty of energy stored for the back end portion.

Overall ball reaction was solid and I think this ball will play well for a majority of bowlers out there looking for a solid ball reaction from a mid-priced pearlized ball.

About the Bowler
Bowling Hand    Right Handed
League Average    195
Ball Speed    Medium
Style    Stroker
PAP    4 1/2 over, 0 up

Surface Preparation:
Out of Box (4000 grit Abralon / Powerhouse Factory Finish)

Layout:
I tried a different drilling layout than the others. It was kind of a modified Rico drilling.

Overall Performance:
I feel this is a great ball for their Advanced Performance line of bowling balls. After using this bowling ball in league, I feel that the video doesn't do this ball justice. I would like to shoot another one soon, time permitting.

Ball Motion:
The ball motion look was very smooth and predictable. If I could get my wrist and fingers healed up and to be as predictable as this bowling ball, then I would be set.

Ball Color:
The color is a little rough on the eyes at first. It is a little hard to see the ball movement because of it, but I feel many people will like it because of the fact that it sort of plays tricks on your eyes.

I was a little leary about buying this ball since the last Hammer ball I had was a BLUE HAMMER! I haven't really liked any of the new balls and only for that reason, never gave them a chance. I saw this ball and figured, what the heck, I'll give them a try again. I had this drilled for a nice even arc but, this ball actually got down the lane and then snapped! Its a 2 inch pin and the top weight is only 2-3 ounces. I think if you drill it to go long and snap, it will only make to abrupt of a turn. I absolutely love this ball and the layout my driller persuaded me to go with. Great Ball. By the way, I have a 211 average and bowl all over California and Vegas.

This ball is awesome! Before using it I was a 190 average and now am at a 200 and moving up. I get a lot of pin movement with it. This ball goes long and then turns in great.

Purchased this 13# ball for my 9 yo son. He's been bowling in leagues & tournaments since the age of 7. His average last year was 179. The third game he bowled with the Burn, he bowled his highest game EVER!!! A 265!! So, I guess he loves his new ball!

This was the first hook ball that i bought, but since then i have graduated to the Hammer Jigsaw Corner. But i still use this ball as my spare ball. It has tremendous hook on the oiliest of lanes. I can pick of the seven pen with ease and turn around and get the ten pen with the same ease. Last night in league i had to use it as my strike ball to get my rhythm down. I would not give this ball up for anything.

I really do love this ball, not too aggressive but doesnt slack off on the backend. First night throwing it shot 830 for 4 games in PBA experience league on the Viper, even tho i havent bowled in 2 years before this league and only 3rd week into it. But it was very consistent all night, never really had to make a move.

Hammer Burn is a very difficult ball to read. I have mine drilled with the pin right above the middle finger. Ball was drilled to go long and make its turn in. I use mostly Storm Products and decided to go to Hammer to see what they had to offer.

Ball is good when the condition to use it is there. When the lanes are dried out its a snap monster. But with a little light oil the ball sometimes dies out. I have found if I put alot of rev on the ball it will find the pocket.

Overall I suggest going with a Storm Fast or Reign. They can fill the void that the Hammer Burn cant.
