I had not bowled in years and recently started on a league this year. This is the first bowling ball I have ever purchased for myself, always had hand-me-downs. I love it, and the cherry smell is awesome. The girls are all talking about my new ball and how much my game has improved since its the perfect weight and drill for me! I found it to be awesome on our med-heavy oil lane condition.

Great ball. Anyone who complains this ball doesn't perform needs to look at the way they bowl and the way it was drilled.
This ball is pretty easy to control if you know what's going on. The ball breaks sharply when it hits the dry boards, even with the factory finish. I'm pretty much a down and in bowler but I tend to change what I do a little to control it.
If you bowl with this ball on a typical house shot you're most likely going to have to change what you do a little or you will leave a lot of unusual spare shots.
Reads the lanes very well. Pretty forgiving of bad releases. Hits like a tank.

I don't normally write reviews on bowling balls, unless I'm really impressed. Just got one of the Storm ThunderStruck Pearl bowling balls after my getting some advice from my local pro-shop with the intention of replacing my old Monster Bruiser that I used for heavy oil spares and when the lanes start to dry out too much for my Fury.
Have to admit, I'm more of a down and in bowler, not real high average, but I'm working on it.
First shot with this ball right out of the box I missed my mark, rolled it nearly to the gutter and it came right back in for a strike. Second shot hit my mark and it pulled a brooklyn. I played this ball 2 full games, moving all over the lane to see what it would do and it got me out of some serious scrapes. Hits like a freight train. Everyone who watched this ball go down the lanes was totally impressed. Definitely worth the investment.
Anyone who can't bowl great with this ball didn't get it drilled right or needs to change the way they bowl.

I tried different covers on this ball, ruffed up it hooks too early and then I tried shinning it up, it got down the lane but it was way too skid flippy. Hard to play the oil line over under to the max. Bucket or 4-6, that's about it. Sold it after 10 games.

I was out of bowling for several years before I started back again 2 years ago. I was still using my Purple Angle which wouldn't do much on current lane conditions. I don't put much on the ball, just a nice casual release. When I first used the Thunder Struck, I was amazed at how it finished compared to my old ball. I would highly recommend this ball to the casual bowler (one league per week) who doesn't try to put much on the bowl. You will be pleasantly surprised with how hard you hit the pocket.
