Hello friends,
I just purchased The Big One and love it. If you want a ball that hooks and you throw with good speed this is the ball for you. I throw between 2nd and 3rd arrow and you dont have to worry because it will hook. I would strongly recommend this ball to anyone who has trouble with ball hooking. This one will hook. I love it.

Due to the "house" condition, where I bowl, I couldn't use Ebonite's The Big One bowling ball for more than one game. This lasted for 8 weeks because it hooked way too much for my down and in style. I finally wised up and had my pro "shine" it up and shot 680 during the nest session. Since then, I have shot consistently between 650 and 680. Most of us 65 year old bowlers who still average over 200 have trouble "zooming" the ball down the lane as do the younger crowd. I am very happy with the "One" now and even use it for my spares. You have to play around with angles and speeds but once you find what is conducive for your house, this ball is great. I went from a 16 pounder to a 15 so having to switch between them, during the matches, was crazy. Now I use the 15 pound "One" all of the time.

Ebonite's The Big One hooks a lot and it is fun to experiment with the different ways you can throw it and it still gets back to the pocket.

I bowl on a league where they oil usually less than an hour before starting time...I started out using the Vendetta 44 magnum and I love that ball but because of so much oil I couldn't get it to hook enough..I got Ebonite's The Big One out and no longer had a problem getting into the pocket with a bang...this ball is great for heavy oil if you know how to use it as its meant to be used...throw it out wide and let it work itself into the pocket..this is a great ball for the price!!!

The Big One doesn't even move for me! When I first got this ball it was hooking really nicely and I got my second 300 with it. Now it just glides down the lanes for me. I am a lefty and I usually play between 2 and 3 arrow on the left side. When I throw there I usually leave a washout, if I play at the second arrow, I won't even hit the pocket. Then if I throw at third arrow, I'll just directly hit the one pin and leave a split. I will slow down then I will just get brooklyn's. I used to like this ball, but now I don't like it. I was expecting a little more hook potential from this ball.

I was told to get this ball from a pro shop, because I throw a 16 lb ball, usually my speed is 16 to 17. I have been using this ball for two weeks and I am not impressed with it at all. I tried to slow it down and it still does not hook like it is made to. Nobody else in the 2 leagues that I bowl in has it. I need some help?

I have used the Big One for several years. I comfortably throw about 18 to 20 mph over the 10 board. The Big One usually has enough bite at the end to hit pocket depending on the lane conditions.

My only complaint is for just a little more hook on the oily shots. I typically have to slow my shot down to an uncomfortable speed. If you want extreme hook, go for a more reactive ball, but the Big One has enough curve for someone with moderately high ball speed, and I actually use it for my ten pins.

When I first got this ball it was a little overwhelming because it hooked so much more then any ball I used before this, but after a few weeks in league i was able to control the hook and swing it out to the 5 board and slam it into the pocket. but sadly do to lane damage that was not repairable I don't use this ball anymore.
