I have just drilled the Nail Titanium. I will state at the outset that I am on Hammer staff. I drilled the Nail Titanium with a 30 x 5 20 layout with a weight hole on my PAP. I dusted the cover with a fresh 4000 Abralon pad to take off the factory polish. (I usually do this with all factory shined balls)

I found this ball to be an imnprovement over the original Nail which I had drilled similarly last year. I found the overall hook to be similar but the motion to be different. I find the new Titanium to be cleaner in the front with a stronger backend motion than the original Nail. On a THS, throwing the ball resulted in a big move off the spot. To control the movement, a more "up the back" release controlled the hook in the back. As the lanes transitioned, I was able to rotate the ball harder and was able to keep a similar line. The carry on this ball is excellent.

I have tried this ball on a longer sport pattern (46 feet) and with the surface it had, the ball was not strong enough to read the pattern. A very aggressive surface did help but overall, a stronger ball was a better option. However, on a lighter volume mid range sport pattern (40 feet) with a little more surface (2000 Abralon) I found this ball to be in play with a little straighter line.

As such, I believe that this new Titanium Nail is best suited for medium volume patterns. Too much volume or a very long pattern and this ball will not be the best option. However, for the THS and medium volume shorter to mid range length patterns, this ball will defintely be in play and will excel. Additionally, the ball is very sharp looking with its bright color combination!

This ball is truly an added value in the Nail line. Titanium gives a smooth ball motion which is characteristic in the Hammer line. With its summer release this ball didn't get the play it deserved on the market. Drilled this with pin under the ring with a 45 degree cg kick out. Super clean with a even roll on the backend. Ball needs very little friction to battle the over under reaction. Another ball that can stay in your hand all night in league and even get some tournament play because of the reaction it gives at the end of ANY pattern. With tournament time in full swing drilling one pin up very soon and looking to strike a TON with it. This ball is really tough to the NAILS!

The Nail Titanium was a good compliment to the smoke and fire nail. Its a lot smoother and not a jumpy on the back end. I use this ball a lot on sport shots where it is flooded in the backs but got dry right of 5. It gets length but pop on the back end. It works ok on house shots late in the night. If you have upper end balls that hook to much late in league this is a ball you could use in your arsenal.

This ball is easily become one of my favorites. Recently I have bowled a lot of women's local tournaments and they seem to like to not put out a ton of oil, and with my high ball speed I really don't have to worry much about the lack of oil but this ball has created a playable shot on the burn for me. The farther left I move typically I start leaving ringing corner pins that frustrate me. This ball I can stand left and throw right and will destroy the pins carrying anything in sight. But I can also play down the boards with it and no that it won't over react. It's not my go to ball for heavy oil bc that's not what the ball was used for but it is a good starting ball for my weekly leagues. Layout 35x 4.5x 80. Absolute will be in my bag for a long time and will probably own more than one. You can't go wrong the with Nail Titanium. Awesome colors show while rolling fairly aggressively down the lane. Love love love!!

Ball Review – Hammer Nail Titanium
I drilled my Nail Titanium with a 5 ¼ in pin under my middle finger with the CG kicked out (5 ¼ x 3). I added an extra hole on my VAL 2 inches down from my PAP. I have had a chance to throw the Nail Titanium for about a month now and have seen it on multiple patterns. This ball is designed to go long and finish strong on the back end but I am not a big fan of balls that make a super strong move when they see the friction so I went with the lower pin and low hole to smooth out the reaction when the ball hits friction. The Nail Titanium glides through the front part of the lane with ease. I took the shell down with a 2000 pad and then added a light polish and the ball still pushed through the front with no effort whatsoever. That was very nice to see. Once this ball gets to the end of the pattern that’s when the Nail Titanium really shines. This ball revs up nicely as it exits the pattern and rolls very heavy. I was very pleased as it revs up hard but does not jerk at the end of the pattern. Part of that has to do with the way I drilled this ball. If someone is looking for a hockey stick reaction (long and snap) I am sure this ball drilled weaker with a high pin would deliver that type of reaction as it stores up so much energy through the front part of the lane. I am very impressed with the versatility of this ball (core and cover). This is a great ball when fronts and the track start to burn up and you need a ball that will glide down the lane. Then you can use different drill patterns to dictate how you want to see the ball roll as it exits the pattern. The Nail Titanium stores up a lot of energy and hits great. I love how this ball rolls through the pins. With a lot of medium to dry lane balls the pins tend to fly around too much and it can affect carry. The Nail Titanium keeps the pins very low and the carry is phenomenal! If you are looking for a medium to dry lane ball the Nail Titanium is a winner!

I drilled this new beauty up last week (40 x 5 1/2 x 35) and have thrown about 10 games on it so far on a few different lane patterns (Cheetah, 40' House Shot, & USBC Blue pattern). I see about 2' more length out of the Titanium Nail than I did with last year's Smoke & Fire Nail with a stronger backend motion too.

The Jet Black coverstock is very versatile and handles surface adjustments really well. This ball is great for the medium/medium lighter house shot patterns as well as some of the lighter volume lane patterns. This ball will give you length with ease & make a strong backend flip motion that you will love to see in this type of ball.

The only negative that I see on this ball is that it might be a little over/under on the heavier mediums, but that is not what this ball is designed for. When the lanes burn up and you need a ball to get down the lane with a nice strong backend motion, the new Titanium Nail is the answer. Great job on Hammer with this cover/core matchup!
