The Ebonite Pursuit will offer you the absolute best performance in the market to date!

Pin to PAP(5 1/8" over 1/8" up) - 5 1/4"
Dual Angle Layout - 70* x 5 1/4" x 20*
Balance Hole - n/a

Surface Preparation - Out of Box (800 Abranet, 1500 Abranet)

What I Was Looking For In This Ball Layout:
After speaking to our Ebonite rep we decided to use a similar mass bias placement as our Taboo Jet Black with a stronger pin placement. The thought behind these two releases was that the bowler could decide what ball motion they wanted and therefor decide on the Pursuit (asymmetrical core) or Pursuit S (symmetrical core).

Based on what we were told about these balls and the data we saw we figured the Pursuit would be a stronger sharper ball motion then the Pursuit S. The asymmetrical core in the Pursuit should cause the ball to roll stronger through the front and middle part of the lane and change directions harder off the break point.

What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout:
The Pursuit rolled really good for me. From the first shot I could tell that I would be able to create some room down lane with this ball because it had so much recovery and really gave me a good look down lane.

Off my hand this ball rolled really good. It cleared the heads super smooth allowing it to set up perfectly for the shot and transition nicely into the backend part of the lane. I will say that this ball offered me the most consistent ball motion down lane of any Ebonite ball I have thrown in recent years.

We changed our second camera angle on this video and I think you will agree that it offers a really good look into the ball motion from start to finish. As you will see in this angle the ball is super strong and also allowed me some tug and swing room, something we all like to have.

Surface Preparation - Out of Box (800, 1500 Grit Abranet)

What I Was Looking For In This Ball Layout:
Being an Asymmetric ball from Ebonite we knew this ball would be very angular. With the matte finish we expected it to start slightly sooner than some of their other products, but still flip hard when it hits the friction.

I used a fairly mild layout on this ball so that it wouldn't become overly angular with my higher rev rate. The higher drilling angle combined with the sub 5" Pin to PAP distance should allow the ball to flare quite a bit, but without the knee jerk reaction on the backend.

What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout:
The ball was still quite angular once it hit the friction. I can only imagine how hard it would have flipped had we used my normal layout.

Out of box this ball gets down lane very clean with a strong backend motion. Considering the lower grit on this ball, it could do well on a wide variety of shots given a simple surface adjustment.

This ball seemed to flip harder and harder the deeper I moved. It will really change direction in the dry. We noticed as the lanes started to open up it gave a very large margin for error. It would skid longer when pulled inside and recover very well with misses outside.

This ball combined with the new Pursuit S will be a very good 1, 2 punch for any bowler. This ball would be great to open up with on any variety of conditions and allow an easy transition to the S once the lanes start breaking down. All-in-all another great product from a great company.

I have drilled two of the pursuit. This ball is amazing. Just put your favorite layout in it and it will roll great. The two I drilled was

70 x 5 1/2 x 40
box finish
it works great on fresh house or sport patterns

70 x 5 x 70
box finish then factory finish polish
realy smooth motion good for sport patterns

The pursuit and pursuit s is the best pieces in my bag.

I am ebonite
Bowl to win!

First off sorry for the 4 but I am saving the 5 for a life changing bowling ball that throws strikes for me. LOL

This was a great addition to my current arsenal. I was looking for a ball that would work well on a house shot and yet still be usable on a longer sport shot pattern or something like the PBA Shark pattern.

This ball fit the bill perfectly. The ball rolls strong without getting too jumpy and it does not lose its roll.

I believe this ball has not gotten the press it deserves and it seems Ebonite is trying to do some very low level marketing so there has been no hype. I got this ball becuase I have tried a few others and I am a ball junky.

Very pleased that I did give the Pursuit a chance it has out performed my expectations. It also seems that the ball is much easier to clean and it looks like it is going to last longer than some of my other high performance stuff.

thanks bowlingball.com, great service, fast shipping - you are my pro shop.

I really like this ball. It hooks much more aggressively than I thought it would by the perfect scale rating it has. This is good, because I throw fast and with medium rotation. On a slick oil pattern, this ball hooks up better than expected, and piles through the pins. I always start with this ball or my Defiant Soul the first game of league or a Tournament. I roll them both to see which is reading better that night. I recommend the Pursuit to anyone who wants a ball that hooks smoothly, but aggressively. With my high ball speed and medium rotation, my ball needs to hook up at the back end and drive into the pins, or else it skids straight through. The Pursuit never skids through on me, so I always trust this ball to work in the crucial first game of league when the lanes are slick.
I think this is the most under rated ball. I destroy my buddies when we bowl against each other with this ball. We bowl about 20 games each and they switch balls constantly. But the Pursuit knocks emm every time. Get yourself a Pursuit and start winning...
