What I Was Looking For In This Ball Layout:
With the second release in DV8's high performance Hell Raiser line we were excited to see what the newest, edgiest company was coming out with.
We had heard from our contacts at DV8 that the Revenge was anywhere from 6-12 boards stronger then the original Hell Raiser depending on the bowler. The thought of that itself got us all excited to throw this ball because the first Hell Raiser was a beast and possibly one of the strongest balls we had thrown last year.
Since we were expecting so much hook I went with one of my favorite layouts for stronger balls that I wanted to be able to use on house shots and that is with the pin up over my middle finger and the mass bias above my thumb. Over the years I had used this layout on some of the strongest balls we have tested and it created enough skid with the out of box finish to allow me to get in deep and just watch the ball change directions at the break point.
What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout:
There has to come a point when the ball companies can not make these balls hook anymore. Obviously DV8 has not found that point yet.
The new Hell Raiser Revenge raises the bar for total hook potential to an all new level. I know we say it a lot with new high performance balls but this may be the most aggressive ball ever. As someone I know said after watching the ball reaction, "it makes other high performance balls look like urethane going down the lane."
The ball motion was just ridiculous for me. It was super clean through the heads, even though I was playing deeper then I have in ages during a ball test
I was able to get this ball back from anywhere. The motion off the break point was unlike anything we have seen int he past. It did not seem to matter
how far right or far down lane I moved my break point, the Revenge seemed to always find that spot and come back from it.
Overall the statement of 6-12 boards stronger was very accurate. I believe I had this ball about 7 boards stronger then the original Hell Raiser and our other ball tester had it an easy 10-12 boards stronger. This may be one of the most fun videos to watch in a while. Make sure you check this ball and video out.
DV8 Hell Raiser Revenge is the new release from DV8. If you need roll in heavy oil DV8 has the right ball for you. The nationals are almost here and for team event this will be the ball. Hell Raiser Revenge has a quick response to friction so the backend will give you more angle.

What I Was Looking For In This Ball Layout:
DV8 is noted for highly aggressive and angular bowling balls. I decided to use a layout that would accentuate that kind of reaction. The 6” Pin to PAP gets the ball to clear the heads and really store its energy for the backend friction. Given that this ball is more aggressive then the original Hell Raiser, we wanted to make sure that we chose a layout to get the ball down lane and really pop.
What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout:
All I can say is wow. This ball is a beast. I played around and threw it down a few different lines during the video and it came back no matter how far right I threw it.
Out of box this ball gives pretty good length considering just how aggressive the shell and core are. I think it would be a little better for me with some Factory Finish High Gloss Polish. Then I would be able to get the ball down lane without having to use all the loft. However, if it is still as aggressive, I may still have to loft to get it over the left gutter.
The finish on the ball was very nice. For my game it was a little much for a house shot, but for most bowlers it will give you a perfect ball for heavier conditions. This ball will definitely enable a bowler to open up higher volume shots with ease.
This ball did not have any problems carrying the deeper I moved. For some this ball may lose a bit of energy when covering too many boards, but by adding a light coat of polish to the surface you can help the ball to store the energy to be released later down lane. Overall the ball is very versatile and very very aggressive.

This ball was everything that I was expecting. After watching the video I was sold. It hooks just like I was hoping. The DV8 Hell Raiser Revenge is an animal. I found the ball to cut right through the oil and make a hard finish through the pocket.
I was unsure because I throw the ball between Curlie and Tony but it reacted just like I thought it should.
Highly recommend, also very impressed with the bowlingball.com customer service and free shipping. Thanks to everyone.
Received this ball two weeks ago had proshop drill to spec #2
it was unbeleivable out of the box. I had been in a funk drastic oil pattern changes at both houses one synthetic one wood. first nite on
wood shot 708, first nite on synthetic 696. this ball by leaps and bounds has out performed my exspectations. clears the heads smoothly
opened both houses up with minamal movement, speed seemed to cause a violant back end. this ball is a true monster. would recamend it to anyone looking for a reliable, steady, and predictable shot with plenty of energy.

Used the bb.com drilling service on my new ball and was totally satisfied with the results. They made a perfect match of my favorite ball giving me the same feel from ball to ball that I've been looking for.
Now for the ball... This ball is amazing on heavy oil. I threw it for the first time during league and struck the first 9 frames. Would've been a 300 if I'd made a move in the tenth. The carry on this ball is amazing!! The only problem I have is it drives past the 9 pin sometimes when there isn't enough oil. I have always had problems on heavy and long oil patterns until I got this ball! This was the missing piece to my arsenal. Thanks bb.com and DV8 for this ball. Couldn't be happier with the product and service I received.
As soon as my DV8 H.R.R. was delivered I had it drilled and was at the lanes in two hours. My average is 156, I bowl lefthanded and my ball speed is under 15mph. I bowled a 600 series out of the box. With Ease!! The ball is, in a word , Awesome. My confidence is through the roof, sky high. The ball is a magnet on heavy oiled lanes to the pocket. I missed outside of my target 3-5 boards and the ball gaves me room for error. Some of my cranker buddies told me that the ball was not good for my stroker style. They were right it is not good...it is Great! You have to get this ball.
First off... I wanna say thank you to dv8 for
a great ball! I carry around a 190 average in both of my leagues during the week.
This ball was drilled by richard saliba from cny, hall of famer inducted in 2005. He drilled my ball for the big flip and,boy am I impressed! I bowled 4 games today right after drilling, shot 209,239,180,214. This was not in league play btw,so the shot was hard with a ball of this magnitude... I bowl tomorrow on my league,so until than to be continued............ Great ball dv8 keep up the good work

THIS IS THE MOST AGGRESSIVE BALL I HAVE EVER THROWN. WHEN THIS BALL COMES OUT OF THE OIL IT TAKES A HARD TURN TO THE POCKET AND IT JUST DOESN'T STOP .RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX I HAD 14 STRIKES AND 1 FOUR PIN IN MY FIRST 15 SHOTS . ANYONE LOOKING FOR MORE BACKEND AND CARRY THIS IS THE BALL, MUCH MORE FINISH THAN EITHER OF MY 2 GRAVITIES .
