New Storm purple/silver ball was shipped/rec'd very timely and it couldn't be more beautiful! I upgraded to a 12 pounder with this one which has given me more pin action - yay! Thanx again for your excellent service and great product!

This was a great spare for me for tournaments and during practices. It stays on track with very dry patterns and as long I keep my line it will go straight to the pins. I am a stroker and this ball is perfect for anyone needing a spare ball.

This ball was a step up from the Brunswick Vis-a-ball that I was using as a spare ball. The Ice is an evenly weighted ball with a predicable track down the lane; this is exactly what you want in a spare ball. It has greatly improved my spare game. Keep this ball polished and it will take out all of the guesswork of shooting spares by going as straight as a well-shot arrow at a target.

I am a senior bowler with 195 average. Spares being one of my plateu challneges. I am year three of returning to the game after some time off and beginning to build an arsenal. I like my High Road and old Flash Flood as my primary balls (soon to replace with IQ or SYNC).

I wanted to add a spare ball for my right hand lane spares. Choosing a plastic ball and staying with STORM was my goal. With a bowlingball.com coupon from my son as a Christmas present, I got my Purple Ice in January and have been using it as my primary spare ball all over the lane. As another reviewer stated, I was pleasantly surprised at the advantage of control and power the ball gives me in the middle of the lane. I would advise bowlers to to throw a few practice shots to make sure that the ball is not moving too much on the back end. The ball WILL help you increase your spare conversion average.

The thing I like most about the ball is that with speed (greater than 16 MPH) the ball is very consistent across most surface conditions. This is NOT the spare ball for a bowler that would slow their spare ball down, as the lane dries out it will increase reaction. With that said, if you throw moderate to high speeds, you'll be very happy with the ball on most lane conditions. The first time using the ball on medium oil house shot, just to see what it would do, I threw about six in a row and would seriously consider using this ball for a down and in shot on dry conditions if I don't have a urethane in the bag.

I bought this to replace my ever disintegrating blue dot as a primary spare ball. It is a tad bit softer than the blue dot, and as a result has a bit of a back end to it if you throw with a lot of revs. But at the same time, the slightly softer shell makes the ball much more durable...and it can even double as a strike ball for when the lanes become desert like.

Pluses:
very little movement
more durable than the harder spare balls like the blue dot
looks great

Minuses:
That it can sometimes have a bit of hook if you use a normal release (which can also be a positive)
