These shoes are a great step up from universal bowling shoes. If you plan on traveling to tournaments or various leagues in different alleys, I would recommend getting shoes that have interchangeable soles and heels. But if you're just looking for a basic shoe that is a step up from universal shoes, you won't have any complaints about these ones. They're very comfortable and feel more like bowling shoes whereas universal shoes feel like glorified sneakers. The traction shoe may take a couple of games to get used to, but if you hang in there, it will help increase your speed on the ball and after awhile, you'll forget that you have a traction shoe. Before these shoes, I was averaging about 15.6 - 15.9 mph on my ball speed and after a few games with these shoes, my speed went up to 15.9 - 16.2 mph. It may not seem like a big difference, but any serious bowler knows otherwise. What happens is the traction shoe allows the bowler to get a better push off on their approach, which adds to your ball speed. Another plus about having a traction shoe is that it helps with your balance since you won't have a slide sole on your push off foot. You'll feel more secure and balanced with these shoes. I would highly recommend these shoes to anyone, especially since they're available at a great price.

When these shoes arrived on my doorstep i couldn't of been happier. These are the best bowling shoes i have ever worn. i would really recommend this to anybody. Bowlingball.com has succeeded again.
These are my first pair of bowling shoes, just started playing in a league, and I find they suit me perfectly. My only complaint is that right out of the book one of the metal rivets for the laces where broken.
So far so good! They look good and feel good! True to size.

These shoes were ultra-comfortable. I did have to brush the slide sole when they were new to get the slide I was looking for.
The only real downside to these shoes is the “uppersole” on the right shoe. As a player that slides his right foot behind him on the release (I realize that’s not the “proper” form for traction shoes), I had an issue where the soft black rubber wore out before the traction part of the sole and left marks on the deck.

Dislike due to shoe too effective.
Will slow your butt down. I can't comfortabley throw the ball fast enough anymore. Same stroke and about 4mph off a normal throw. Too much for me. went from mentally slowing down to trying to speed up.
Comfortable shoe, looks good. only a little mental adjustment to getused to rubber sole on right shoe.
If you need to slow down speed great shoe to try.
Purchased these for my son. Shoe fits true to size and as with all Dexter footwear has very good quality. As always Bowlingball.com made this another positive buying experience.

They worked very well for my friend. Slowed his butt down. He wasn't used to the rubber on the right foot.
