Instead of taped, try these cushions. They can represent anywhere between 2 and five pieces, depending on the tightness you need for a consistent grip, these are for you. You don't need to keep adding or taking out tape, the cushion supplies the +/- you need.

The Shur Cushion has made my life so much better. My thumb swells quite a bit throughout a three game set, so managing tape on my thumb and in the ball had become complicated. Now, I have a piece of Shur Cushion at the back of the thumb hole, and don't have to make any changes to the thumb hole as the set progresses.

Depending on how cold it is, I may have to augment with a piece or two of tape on the thumb, but now things are much simpler and much more manageable.

This is a great product. If you are tired of constantly working on your thumb hole, try this cushion.

Ace Mitchell Shur Cushion is an amazing product sold by Bowlingball.com. If you want a comfortable snug fit of your thumb, the cushion will a good release of your bowlingball with lots of comfort. No need for multiple layers of bowling tapes just to have the right fit. One of Ace Mitchell Shur Cushion should be sufficient enough for the rifgt fit. Another quality product sold at Bowlingball.com. Bravo. I highly recommend Ace Mitchell Shur Cushion Bowling tape to ANYONE.

Ace MItchell Shur Cushion gives the right fit on your Bowling thumb. It gives the snug feeling with a smooth release. You do not have to put Bowling tape after Bowling tape to have the right fit. One of Ace Mitchell's Shur Cushion is about 5 to 6 Bowling tapes. Imagine one of Ace Mitchell Shur Cushion vs 5 or 6 Bowling tape and one more thing less hustle to apply. Just apply at the back portion on the thumb hole of your Bowling ball, Viola! Sure Fit. Oh, I almost forgot because of the cushion - Comfort. I highly recommend ACE MITCHELL SHUR CUSHION with a capital letter. It's worth the investment.

I find that using this product it gives me that nice snug fit in my thumb hole so I don't feel like I have to squeeze the ball and I can relax my hand which makes for a more consistent release.
