I purchased these shoes for $49.99, and they are excellent shoes for the price. I originally had problems with the slide heel (blue 5 - standard slide) that was on the shoe when I got them. It would not slide on the synthetic approaches due to the fresh rubber being tacky. I ordered the number 7 leather slide heel, and the shoes are now excellent. The original heel may work fine after it gets broken in, but the sticking screwed up my timing. I was disappointed that I had to cut the new heel to fit, but it works fine, and it wasn't THAT difficult to cut it with metal shears. The shoes are very comfortable, and they appear to be well made and durable. I am impressed with the features and included accessories, especially for such a low price.

I used to have some REALLY old Dexters. The soles came apart from the shoe. I replaced them with the SST 5's. They are a little thin so if you have a wide foot look elsewhere. I am hoping to stretch mine out in the width. As for bowling better, I did not do. I bowled my worst set all year (470). My average was a 192. You definitely slide A LOT further so it is going to take some getting used to. On the aesthetics side of things, they look very nice and changing the slide is very easy. Hopefully I will get used to them quickly:)
I love this shoe...works just like any other SST5 but with an athletic look to the shoe. Very lightweight and they breathe great! The only down fall is that the insole is starting to separate into the two original pieces(the felt and foam).
These shoes worked great when I first got them. However, the more I used them, the more the toe of the shoe started to peal away on my plant shoe. Wouldn't buy them again.
It's a Dexter, so it really is a good shoe, and the removable soles and heels are great! However, the velcro holds the soles and heels on so strongly that when they are removed the actual permanent sole of the shoe becomes detached! I have a defective merchandise claim in right now, but I don't know if it's beyond the mfg.'s standard warranty period...purchase date 10/14/05...warranty claim date 5/19/06. If it's out of warranty, I'm out of luck. Next time it's a Brunswick shoe for me!
Shoes fit perfectly and had very minimal break-in time on the lanes. The shoes are extremely comfortable. Love them. Only problem I could see is the limited selection of sizes. Luckily for me I fit right in with the limitations. Bowlingball.com had very fast and free shipping also.
Gteat shoes-well built - tried them as soon as I got them. Very comfortable and worked very well on the approaches.
I love the SST 5 sport shoes. They fit perfectly out of the box and they are everything that I expected. The order process was simple and easy. I will absolutely be ordering more product from bowlingball.com.
This is my second pair of SST 5's, and I was impressed enough with my first pair to come back to these rather than go with the later model SST's. Of course the clearance (or sale) price didn't hurt. I've switched out the heels with one that didn't come with the shoes, but that was a minor cost and an individual preference. For that reason, the ability to adjust the slide sole and heel is a great asset. Also,I never wear my shoes where they can pick up foreign substances, but every once in a while, it happens even in the bowling area, so having a replacement slide sole is extremely helpful. The system is much better than the Lind's I had at the time I bought my first pair of SST's,in which one replaced "plugs" in the slide sole and in the heel. Altogether, if you are a serious bowler, and bowl in more than one or two houses, these shoes are a plus, and can enhance or save your scores.

I think they did a great job in getting me the Dexter Men's SST 5 bowling shoes in record time. The shoes are great and I love them.
These shoes are very comfortable and seem to be well made. I am very pleased with this brand of bowling shoe. I have not had to change the sole yet but the little bag with the slide and heal scale on it is a great little thing to have Also love the shoe cover and bag for shoes to protect them.

Only one problem. The insole liner on one shoe is loose and peeling off the bottom of the inside of the shoe from the toe back.
All in all an excellent value and an excellent shoe.

I was extremly happy with these shoes. They are very comfortable and came with extra soles for different slide. Only downer was shipping was a little long 9 or 10 days...but the shoes GREAT!!!

Excellent value. I normally require a 10.5 wide but ordered the 11 med and the fit was excellent. Very good support and quality in a shoe for only $50 dollars. An absolute steal. Highly recommend.

Shoes are awesome! I recommend buying a half size smaller than what you usually wear. I was apprehensive to do so but they fit perfectly.

I have had these shoes for about 7 months and they are the best i have ever owned.These are worth every penny you spend.They are very comfortable and fit very well. I like the interchangeable heel and sole. i dont slide much so i can adjust to my speed but i can always interchange for different approach stickiness and more or less slide if i need it. overall these shoes are AWESOME!! and not even expensive.

These shoes are very comfortable. I ordered the same size as my New Balance and Rebock tennis shoes and they fit perfectly. I ordered a second pair for me and a pair for my son. These shoes are very nice for the money.

great shoe, i purchased the black was not quite as happy as i am with this shoe. Was looking for a true 11-1/2 fit and this is the one. The slide sole is better than any others i have ever had. Justs great shoe all around, and the price forget about it.

These shoes are awesome! They look and feel like a very expensive comfortable sneaker. They come with a shiny blue shoe bag with Dexter and the Dexter logo on it. They also come with a shoe slide cover, an extra heal and slide sole. Since wearing these very impressive shoes I\'ve improved my game by quite a bit. Shoe fits and feels very good. Just as described well satisfied. First time out bowled a 658 series. Shoe is comfortable and would highly recommend to bowlers of all skill levels. Priced reasonable
The Dexter SST 5 Sport is a nice looking, comfortable shoe. The only problem I encountered was sticking on the approach in the slide. Wheb I replaced the hard white rubber heel (which came with the shoe) with a red leather heel (purchased separately) it allowed me to slide smoothly. Usually a mid-180 bowler the last 2 times out I broke 600/ I am well satisified with the purchase.
I have been bowling for many years now and I would have to say that this is one of the best pairs of shoes I've ever had! They are very comfortable, and the slide soles appear to be very durable. I have had mine for a little over half a year and they are still going strong. I would highly recommend these shoes to anyone who is looking to step up their game.
The Men's Dexter SST 5 Sport is good bowling shoe. If you are looking to try a pair of interchangeable soles then you should try these one. At this price they are a steal. They come with sole # 4 and # 8 and a flat heel and a ridge heal, shoe cover and carrying bag.

For the price of these, they are unbeatable. To be able to get a pair of SST's that gives you the flexability to change soles and heals depending on approach condition is a must. Just get yourself a few more slide soles and you are good to go. I have had these for around two years with no problems, and they are very comfortable. I may get another pair for down the road, because you could get two of these for the price of a higher end shoe.
This shoe is unbelievable for the price. I know they only have a few sizes but thank goodness they are good sizes. This was crazy stupid, this shoe was 135.00 in the pro shop. I saw other places for as low as 90.00 plus shipping.
This deal was out of the ball park. The fit was so great that I bought another pair for back up. Well worth the price and they are totally free shipping.
At this price the shoe is a steal and a no brainer to buy. Great shoe, very stylish and feels like a training shoe. Very comfortable. Style and functionality, a very hard combine to find, add in the low price and this is an easy decision. I really recommend the bowlingball.com Sure Fit plan, well worth it to make sure the shoes are perfect.
