I bought this ball to use on oily lanes, and to try to keep up with the high rev players. What an awesome ball. I had it drilled by the professionals at bowling.ball.com, and the fit is great. The first time I used the DV-8 Feud, I shot 677 in a tournament. I pulled the ball straight out of the box, and it was the perfect lane condition. Mind you, this ball does need oil. I bought it as a condition ball, knowing that it would not be used in our typical league shot. I'm thinking about drilling another one, and putting a little shine on it. This ball hits like a mack truck. The people on our tournament pair ask me what I was throwing because it created so much area. I believe I sold them on the Feud. Being a medium rev player, I would recommend this ball to all the strokers that want to compete with the cranker of the bowling community.
Other balls in the bag:
Pivot
IQ Pearl
Defiant Soul
Infinite Theory
Hy Road

This is my 2nd DV8 ball. I think DV8 is putting out some very good balls - when used on the right conditions. The Ruckus Feud is a matte finished ball -- and has an agressive core-- so if you use it on Medium Heavy to Heavy oil patterns -- then it will react and perform as designed. It comes to the pins HARD (like a missile). If you try to use it on medium to dry lanes -- you will not like it -- and that won't be the ball's fault. Also, if you throw a really slow (mph) ball-- you will have a hard time with this ball. So do your homework-- know your lane conditions and bowling style-- and if your lanes are oily AND you put some speed behind your throws, then you won't be disappointed with the Ruckus Feud. Pin carry (on anything close to pocket) are fun to watch and the sounds are thunderous! You could hear my strikes throughout the entire bowling center. I'm glad I bought it.

I drilled my Ruckus Feud 60 by 4 5/8 x 40, and tried it on a couple different patterns.

On the house shot, this ball was a monster. I had to play farther left than I ever have on our house shot. This ball made a strong move off the dry part of the lane when I missed my target wide, and still dug through the heavy concentration of oil when shots were missed to the inside of the lane. When I am bowling on a heavier volume house shot, this will definitely be the ball of choice.

On patterns that are 38' and less, the Ruckus Feud is just too much. In order to get this ball to work on such patterns, one would have to adjust the surface to a smoother finish, and trick the layout to get the ball to lay off in the backend.

This ball is designed for med-length to long patterns with plenty of volume. Use it on that type of pattern, and you will see more hook and backend than any ball you have in your bag.

Standard label drilling. This ball is huge!! What is great is the fact that is get throw the heads recovers in the mid lane and retains energy to finish. Goes longer then the Endless Nightmare but has more overall hook.

Just got the ball yesterday. took 3 games to adjust to it on 38 feet of oil. Could not keep it on the right side. shot a 660 series.. Brought it back out this evening on a 44 long pattern and shot my first 300!!!!! This ball is insane. It compliments my Roto Grip critical theory perfectly. Be prepared to move 4-5 boards left with your feet and use it on heavy to medium heavy oil only.... Best ball ever.

Ruckus Feud
By: Bryan Bannach DV8 Regional Staff Member
DV8 describes the Ruckus Feud as a ball that “Featuring the new Class 12 Solid Reactive coverstock wrapped around the Ruckus core, the Ruckus Feud tractions in the oil and revs hard on the backend for the most total hook potential of any DV8 ever on heavy oil lane conditions”
With the release of the original Ruckus I knew DV8 was onto something good with their asymmetric equipment. I could tell the original Ruckus had the motion I have always wanted out of an asym but it just lacked the ability to handle heavier volumes of oil. Leaving it as a very special purpose ball for me that didn’t get a ton of use. Enter the Ruckus Feud…
I choose a layout of 55x5 ½ x45, which is a layout I use on asyms, when I want a more forward hook than a sweeping motion. This ball has the strength to handle any volume of oil, but it still retains that motion shape that I liked from the original Ruckus. The Ruckus Feud gets through the heads very cleanly. It is effortless to get this ball to the spot. Once it gets to the spot it has still retained a ton of energy to go through the pins. Unlike the original Ruckus this ball NEEDS oil. I have to be very conscious of when the volume starts to get depleted because it is then time to put this ball away.
My first time using the Ruckus Feud was on the USBC White 2 pattern, with beefed up volume on a higher friction synthetic surface. I was able to use the Ruckus Feud for the first 2 and a half games, which was longer than I have EVER been able to stick with a high end asym ball. I usually have to get out of strong asyms fairly early because they start to leave corner pins for me. But with the Feud I was able to just keep moving left and it never lost energy until I finally got into 5th arrow and was trying to cover too many boards. I then switched to the original Ruckus and continued to strike.
My second experience with the Ruckus Feud was on the 45 ft Route 66 Kegel Pattern. I was able to start with this ball playing fairly square. But the lane surface was very high friction and after about a game, there was not enough volume to continue using this ball. Once again, this ball needs some volume up front. But can handle lower volumes than I usually can with higher end equipment.
The Ruckus Feud is one of the strongest balls I have ever thrown, but it has a unique ability to last longer into blocks for me. I would HIGHLY recommend this ball to anyone with a medium to low rev rate on a typical house shot. This ball will allow you to get in with the higher rev players. I would also recommend this ball to a High Rev player looking for something for higher volumes and longer patterns.
