Sorry, but I didn't like this ball. I bought it as a replacement to my Slingshot. The Slingshot was my first reactive ball coming back to bowling from a 20 year layoff raising kids.

I bought the Strike King because I'm still learning about layouts with modern weight blocks so I didn't want to spend too much on experimenting. The marketing on the Strike King is that it has a stronger shell and core than the Slingshot. I did not find that to be the case.

I'm a stroker style with lower rev rate and ball speed. This ball went too long before turning up and then didn't turn that hard. I had the ball redrilled with the pin lower but the ball still goes long with only mild turn.

Disappointed in this ball. I prefer my Slingshot.

I have recently added the Brunswick Strike King to my arsenal of bowling balls by recommendation of my local pro shop. I have been bowling in league for a few seasons now and have transitioned from a stroker to a power cranker. What I was looking for in this ball was a smooth slide through the heads, and transition into a powerful backend. This ball is exactly what I was looking for. I bowl in 3 leagues at 3 different houses, and I can throw this ball at every house with any oil condition. Believe it or not, I am able to hold my line even when the lanes begin to dry out. When the shot is dry, I move in deep and swing it with ease. This ball is the most consistent ball I have ever thrown and fits my style perfectly. I bowl with 3 different hand positions from stroker to cranker, and the ball reacts flawlessly. I would recommend this ball to any style player on any oil condition. Heck, I might just by another one today!

COMMENTS
Likes: Strong move off of friction and easy length on lighter conditions
Dislikes: none
The Strike King is a stronger flippier replacement for the slingshot. It has easy length and strong response to friction much like the Ringer only with less overall hook. The ball is a 3 and 1 move right off my Ringer and will allow me to play more direct when encountering drier conditions. It hooks about the same amount as my Karma Urethane with a ton more length and a much stronger move on the backend. The Strike King will also allow you to move left and play inside some once the condition is very fried. It is an incredible value at its price point. The bang for your buck doesn't get much better than this! If you are seeking a strong backend reaction on drier lane conditions the Strike King is just the ball your looking for.

The Brunswick Strike King is an entry level performance release by Brunswick this season. My first thought of seeing the new release from Brunswick was the price. At this time I was in need of a super clean ball that would clear the heads with ease and this was it. Being a slower type bowler,(around 10-11mph only) I found it very difficult to have success on the very dry lane conditions. My Versa-max didn't cut it, great ball but too strong for the dry lanes. I got the Strike King drilled in a Pin-up with the pin being above my fingers and a balance hole on my PAP. My first impression on the Strike King when I first threw it was how clean this ball was, this ball IS the definition of skid in bowling. The cleanest thing that is not a plastic or urethane. Good back-end (not as much from the balance hole) and it hits just as hard as any other performance ball. Even with my slower ball speed, I did end up getting 1 or 2 headpins fly across the pin deck. I choose Purple/Pink for the looks, but looks doesn't affect performance, and in some weeks, it really is the "Strike King". I would highly recommend this ball to rev dominant bowlers, slower speed bowlers, high rev bowlers, dry lane conditions, people who are getting their first hook ball, or who are on a budget.

This year was my first year of league bowling and bowled with the hammer taboo. I bought the Strike King as a back-up ball while my taboo was in the shop. This ball is now the first out of my bag! my average was in the 140s when i started with and by the time the league was over my average was at 176!! the highest games i have ever bowled have came out of this ball, it was everything i wasnted and more..i was suprised how good it was for the price. i am able to hit the pocket everytime with the smooth backend on it. i would recommend this ball to anybody looking for a great ball for the price. you cant beat it!

In using this ball at 14 pounds, my second game scored a 229 with seven strikes and one open frame. My previous average with a Black Mamba was 165 with a 196 high.

I give the Strike King high marks for game consistency and appearance.

I couldn't ask for more out of a low end ball, the Strike King gets through the front part of the lane super clean and turns hard when it reads the friction down lane. I have had the opportunity to throw this ball on multiple patterns/conditions and it always seems to read the lanes well. Early on, it allows me to play a little straighter through the front and keep a pretty tight line. While later in the day when the lanes start to dry out, the Strike King will allow me to move everything left and not have to worry about it over reacting. With the Strike King, I get a little more length with more backend motion than I see from my Karma Pearl with the same layout. This ball for me is also about 5 and 3 stronger than my Slingshot. This is another great ball from Brunswick that is in my bag and ready to go at all times.
