Hammer Arson Pearl Reviewed By: j-rod-300 07/10/2012 11:10 ( stars)

IF you liked the Arson from last year, you are going to love the Arson Pearl. It is the best pearl I have seen yet. It goes longer than the original arson but is a lot stronger off the spot. It is a perfect 2nd game ball and it can even be used all night depending on the house you bowl in. The arson pearl is good for medium lenght patterns and can even be used on a broken down long pattern and still will have tons of energy going through the pin deck!

Hammer Arson Pearl Reviewed By: davisrj87 12/29/2013 00:50 ( stars)
Super smooth ball down the lane on the house shot where I bowl and the back end snaps nicely but I seem to leave a higher number of 10pins compared to my old storm eraser pbt that was ate by a ball return. Also i would not try this ball on heavy oil.

I must say that this is my favorite bowling ball! The house I currently bowl in is very stingy with the oil, so my First Blood has to stay at home on league night. The Arson Pearl glides nicely down the middle and gives a strong and consistent hook. When it hits the pins I get plenty of pin action. I can normally use this ball all night except for the nights when the lanes are REALLY DRY, at which point I have to switch over to the Vibe. I have also used this ball at other houses where the oil has been at about a medium volume and this ball works flawlessly. Only in extremely dry conditions or heavy oil will this ball give me trouble. For any condition in between this is my "go-to" ball.

I wanted to wait awhile before I wrote a review on this ball. I got the Arson Pearl about 4 months ago and recently just went to going fingertip. This was my first reactive ball (I used to only use urethane) and I don't know if I dressed it up in my head to be something it's not, or what. The good news about this ball is that it is very consistent on a variety of lane conditions. I just wouldn't recommend this ball for heavy oil. I've tried it, you get no entry angle into the pocket with this ball (I left a lot of flat 10s). This would make a good benchmark ball if you're more of a "down and in" bowler, like me. For league, I can easily use this ball all night (my house has medium oil conditions) without it over hooking on me. The only thing I'm not crazy about this ball is its hitting power. I don't know if it's the symmetric core or something, but this ball is average at best when it comes to hitting power. Other than that, it's a great ball. I just went with a simple label layout, I bowl around 16.2 - 16.6 mph and I average 210, with med-high revs. With this ball and going to fingertip, over a 50 game stretch, I have seen my average go up to a 222. A good portion of my spare shots are at ringing 10 pins.
I would recommend this ball to anyone.

Hammer Arson Pearl Reviewed By: Gobbles113 12/10/2012 11:11 ( stars)
I am not in any means sponsored by Hammer or a Hammer "fan boy". I happen to own a couple of Storm, three Roto Grip and a couple of Hammer balls. What bowling ball am I looking for? I will explain my needs as I type along. I needed a ball that will take care of the worn-out lane that I deal with high-rev bowlers on regular basis. I was encouraged to take this ball if I do not want the ball to hook too early but give me length and still keep me in the game.
Half way in the 2nd game of bowling, the oil was already worn out and beaten up since it is an AMF synthetic lane style. I decided to put my Arson ball down and pick up Arson Pearl. Boom, boom, boom...four strikes straight to salvage the game at the end. 3rd game, I did not even struggle to bowl this ball. This ball stays true to character and gave me the length that I need.
I have tried to bowl this ball on a very oily lane at other bowling alley a few days ago. It performed flawlessly. I did not have to squeeze myself in too hard to play off the 7 board like I normally do with Arson. I stayed in between 3-5 board the rest of the way. I bowled 20 pins higher than my average each game I bowled. It is a highly recommended ball that is a great all around ball.
