Excellent Ball, I bowl two finger and I can get consistent aggressive hooks. Would recommend to anyone of any skill level.

Storm Tropical Heat Purple Black Ball Review
by Storm Staffer Casey Murphy

Right Handed
Rev Rate: 375-400 Rpm
Ball Speed: 16 mph
PAP: 4 5/8 straight across

Location: Sunshine Lanes
Lane Pattern: Typical House Shot
Layout: 80, 5 ½, 45

I threw this ball on a typical house pattern and saw a great blend of length and recovery which is the classic trademark of a Storm hybrid coverstock. I was able to send the ball to the dry boards and have a controlled but very angular recovery. I also kept the ball tight in the oil and there was plenty of traction in the 4000 grit finish for the ball to pick up and flush the pocket.

The Tropical Heat Purple Black is another great offering from Storm in their dependable Tropical line. This ball will be best used on a medium to lighter volume of oil. Bowler’s looking to avoid early hook on drier conditions should definitely have this ball in the bag.

Love this ball, very great for many conditions. There are so many ways to drill this ball and create and angle that is perfect for anybody of any condition. The best part about the ball, ITS CHEAP. I would highly recommend this ball be in everyone's arsenal. I am a huge fan of the hybrid cover-stock and leaving it dull this time creates such a more interesting type of reaction.

Simply put, this ball is a fantastic house shot benchmark. This is not the first time we've seen the Turbine core nor the Reactor Hybrid cover. The other Tropical Heat Hybrid comes in the traditional Storm finish of 1500-grit polish. However, they decided to finish this one in 4000 grit abralon to play a bit more like the solid version which was discontinued.
What you get with this core is a good length, with a consistent breakpoint and strong motion on the backend. The motion tends to be concentrated towards the latter part of the overall ball reaction so it stores good energy for the pins. This ball and core works amazingly well on your typical house shots. I've had a Furious for years which is my benchmark on medium/medium light conditions. I have that ball finished at 4000 plus light polish. Since the Tropical Heat Hybrid actually plays more like a 2000 abralon when new, it likes medium or medium/heavy more. It will not have enough length for medium-light conditions. However, rest assured the cover can easily be adjusted.
The ball was tested on Kegel Main Street (41 ft) THS and 2012 USBC Championship pattern (39 ft). It worked very well on the THS and above average on the USBC pattern.
Really strong entry angle.

I purchased the purple and black Tropic Heat about a year ago and have found it to be one of the best balls that I have used. It\\\'s more like my old Columbia Yellow Dot,which has always been my favorite ball, than anything I\\\'ve used. I love it.
