Storm Polar Ice is the new Urethane release from Storm. The Blue/Green is a solid this will give you a smooth roll with control on dry lanes. Urethane is a great ball for slower ball speeds and dry lanes.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU THANK YOU STORM!! Finally I have found a ball in 8 lbs. that ISN'T plastic!! My 8 year old daughter is going to join her first league this fall (right now she is bowling in a summer 9 Pin league for fun with me) and she has a pretty good hook and the plastic ball just isn't doing her any good and our alley said I wouldn't be able to find a non plastic ball in less than 10 lbs. and I proved him wrong! I can't wait for her to try it out! I am hoping this will help her get more pin action and our ally is also very pleased that I found this ball as well, because he couldn't order it through his distributor.

I will update my review later in the summer to inform how well she did with it!

Have only bowled about 6 games with this 16 lb ball. I'm 78 yrs old relatively new to bowling with slow speed (10 to 12 mph) & low revs. I've tried reactive resin but with my slow speed was unable to control the ball path. With this urethan ball I was looking for more straight 7 board down and in. I've found that if I put "fingers in the ball" I can control thwe curve and yet throw it straight for spares with a thumb at 12 and fingers at six . My average is about 140 and the third game I bowled 221 (7 strikes). At this point, the ball seems appropriate for my age speed and ability.
One confusion I had about the ball was the weight block. Its described as a three piece but the picture shows a pancake weight.

I use this ball as my spare ball and it is great. However if the lane is extremely dry I can throw this ball straight up ten and use it as my strike ball. In addition if I go bowling with friends or family at night time this is the ball I will bring because it glows in the dark and draws a crowd.
