Look at the Durometer reading on this ball. This is THE hardest spare ball currently being made. If you send this one end over end with no side rotation, it is guaranteed not to hook at all. Besides being one of the best looking spare balls out there. I've been using this one as my 6 pin and 10 pin ball for a little over a year. It is still in great shape, it has really held up. But I am going to get another one to hold onto for when this one gets too marked up.

About the Bowler

I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'m bowling in my first league in 10 years and the shot is bone dry; I had an Ice drilled straight up and it carried well enough to manage 16 strikes over the first two games in week one. I used a blue dot for short oil years ago, but the Ice seems to carry better. I bowled second arrow arcing out to the third board and it came back like a trooper. I throw fingertip at 16 MPH with a fair amount of turn. It\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s also the best spare ball I own.

The one thing I really like about this ball is that if the track area really burns out you can bump it off that area due to the weight block. But if you get this ball to skid it does not recover so this ball is very effective for corner pins.

I'm a straight bowler and wanted to go up to a 12lbs. This ball bowls great. Love the color of the ball, it looks great going down the lane. Can't wait to use in when I start my league bowling this summer!

I bought this to use as a plastic spare ball, so I had BowlingBall.com drill it to go straight as an arrow. PIN and CG are in the same place (center of mid-line). I roll spare balls "end over end" so PAP does not matter. It should be noted that this ball does have a weight block (unlike many plastic ball) and can be set up to hook a little if you wanted. This is the third plastic spare ball I have bought and it is a winner. It slides like ICE down the lane, straight as an arrow. I have used spare balls that have hooked at the last second and missed the target especially on dry lanes. The Storm Blue Ice lives up to it name and has the lowest friction cover I have used. It also has the hardest cover-stock / shell of any ball I have looked up on BowlingBall.com. The first time I used this ball I was just testing it to see how straight it would roll from a variety of different angles -- so I bowled the entire game with it. I end up with a 196. Amazing for a plastic spare ball only thrown straight at the pocket and straight at spares. This ball hits like a ton of bricks and has pins flying everywhere. It is a great for shooting spares, but it could also be a great ball for those that throw straight at the pocket.

Superb spare ball. Minimal hook, but very predictable. Love the color scheme on it as well. Really easy to control with a predictable ball motion. Very happy with this ball so far.

Good spare ball. Have tried other plastic balls and have had a problem finding one that rolled true. The Storm Ice is the best I have found. Recommend it for anyone wanting a good spare ball that hold a good straight line.

I chose the Blue Ice because I am currently buying only blue bowling balls to match my blue jeans that I wear in league. I had decided it was time to switch from 16 to 15 pounds. After reading all the technical mumbo jumbo and not knowing how to apply it to my own situation as far as my personal bowling style and lane conditions, it was still obvious I needed a plastic spare ball. The Storm Ice Blue was priced right and looked great. The only disappointment was opening the box and seeing a "Made in China" label. We can't even make our own bowling balls any more? The disappointment went away quickly once it was drilled and I rolled it down the lane. It goes straight as a string on all but the driest of conditions. There is only me to blame for missing a spare now.

I was changing over to 15 lbs. after throwing 16 for more than 50 years and wanted something eye catching that would go straight as a string for spares. Storm Blue Ice was perfect. I was a little turned off when it arrived with a "Made in China" label, but it rolls beautifully straight and looks great on the rack. My spare percentage is improving with this ball.

I find no need for a plastic spare ball but I wanted to buy this just for the looks. It is plastic so there is not much to say about it except it looks cool as hell rolling down the lane!
