Unfortunately for Dexter, Storm has got the toe problem solved. I had a pair of Dexter SST 8 shoes and the toes on both shoes came loose after only 9 months of use. Additionally the soles (both left and right) would peel back at the tips. Very frustrating and disappointing considering the price for those shoes and additionally considering those are the top of the line Dexters. I really liked the way they fit, but the form and function of the shoes failed the test.

I had a bowling leage member/friend tell me about the Storm SP2 900 shoes and I decided to try them. When I received them I instantly went to the toe and saw that Storm had reinforced the toe with a sewn in vinyl/plastic reinforcement (instead of the glued leather reinforcement on the Dexters). The Storm shoes also took the leftover soles I had from my Dexters so that was a plus.

The shoes have worked out greatly for me thus far and I can't the toe on these shoes breaking down as the Dexters. Just my experience and I thought I should make the honest comparison/review to help other 'toe kickers' out there.
