I've had problems with carry using the Nightmare for quite awhile. I've changed the surface many times. It would burn out early leaving 10 pins as other reviewers have noted or go too long if I really polished it.
I finally tried the surface for the Brutal Nightmare just announced. Sanded at 500 grit and then rough buffed. That seemed to do the trick. Now I get a great reaction although it doesn't hook as much in real heavy oil. The carry is great now.
I suspect I now own a Brutal Nightmare as I don't seem to see any other differences (other than the color).
