They tried to stop me. But my obsession cannot be contained. The Roto Grip Disturbed.
Pin to PAP(5 1/8" over 1/8" up) - 5 1/4"
PSA Layout - 5 1/4" x 4" x 3"
Balance Hole - On PAP
Surface Preparation - Out of Box (2000 grit Abralon)
What I Was Looking For In This Ball Layout:
Based on the looks of the new Disturbed from Roto Grip I decided to try and help this ball get down the lane and stay smooth over all. With it's 2000 grit surface and core/cover combo this ball was certainly not going to be shy to oil and want to rip through the lane and pins.
With the longer pin distance from my PAP and the longer pin buffer I expected this ball to still be very strong off my hand but stay smoother overall and not get too jumpy at any one part of the lane.
What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout:
During our video test of this ball our other 2 testers went before me. I have to say I was a little worried because I saw how much the ball hooked for them. I mean flat out hook.
Good news, this ball is amazing. Roto Grip absolutely knocked this one out of the park.
Now keep in mind I still say you need oil and particularly head oil but if that is what you have the Disturbed will be a beast for you. With the smoother layout and addition of the hole on my PAP I saw a super strong but very smooth motion out of the ball from start to finish.
If I wanted to really see the ball change direction it allowed me to make a slight hand adjustment and move in and see it go left down lane. With
the out of box surface the only thing I could not do was square up with it. But I'm sure with a surface change and the right pattern/layout we could
make this ball do anything.
My opinion is you are are going to see a lot of this ball this season both in league and on tour.
