Just bought this on the Black Friday MEGA DEAL for $94.99...and it's worth all that and much more!!!
First time throwing ball on a burned up THS, I moved between 4th and 5th arrow (which is not my "A" game AT ALL) and tossed a 277. I was amazed how clean this dull (4000 grit) got through burned up heads and projected out to the breakpoint. Once it read the breakpoint, the Alpha-Max had a TON of energy left to come back and hit the pocket with authority!
Moved to a different pair that had oil and stayed left of the track-line and saw how well this ball handles the oil. I look forward to seeing how this will handle tournament oil - I threw it side-by-side with a Storm Marvel - and while the Marvel would start earlier, the Alpha-Max hit with the same authority even though it was coming back to the pocket from a angle further right. Also threw it side-by-side with a Columbia Wicked Encounter and found it a full 2 boards stronger.
Outstanding ball - and might be the best buy on bowlingball.com for an asymmetrical solid for the money. Highly recommended!!!
