Columbia 300 Oath
Layout: 55/3.5/30
About me: High speed/high revs player with low track and high tilt.
So far, the Oath comes as advertised. It provides a few feet more length than the Omen, which was my favorite Columbia 300 release from the 2011/2012 season. I typically prefer using the more symmetrical Columbia 300 cores and find more predictability and continuation on sport patterns, and this ball is no different. While I still see more hook in the Wicked Encounter and Omen, the Oath allows me to open up my angle once those 2 start to transition too early or become too strong. The 2000 Abralon out-of-box finish still enables this ball to handle fresh oil patterns and medium to long sport conditions with the same predictable and strong motion that Columbia 300 products are know for. This will be a perfect benchmark type ball for me with the product line thus far. Bowlers will see more hook with the Wicked Encounter and more length with the Violent Eruption, but the Oath provides the best of both worlds. Bowlers can use this ball on just about any type of lane condition and a variety of different layouts and weight-hole combinations are possible as well. I am simply using this ball in its out-of-box preparation with the pin over my ring finger, cg stacked below that. This is also one of the best looking balls in the Columbia arsenal and will also look great going knocking down the pins as well.
