The 2Fast adds another another great look from Storm.
Pin to PAP(5 1/8" over 1/8" up) - 5 1/2" under middle finger
Mass Bias Position - N/A
CG Placement - lower right
Balance Hole - n/a
Surface Preparation - Out of Box (2000 grit Abralon)
What I Was Looking For In This Ball Layout:
Storm's description on this ball says they were looking for something that would offer glide through the heads with attack down lane at the break point.
I figured by placing in the pin a little further from my PAP but keeping it under the grip I would enhance this ball motion and give us a really good look at what the new 2Furious can do. This layout normally creates more skid
but still allows the ball to read the friction. For me when I do this layout with the pin under my middle finger I tend to get a little earlier read then if I go above.
I laid this ball out identical to my 2Fast so that we could see what the subtle differences in coverstock would do to the ball motion. I expect that this ball will read a little earlier and have a smoother motion on the backend.
What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout:
The 2Furious offered what I thought it would but it did surprise me on how much more aggressive it was then the 2Fast. Ball for ball you could tell the motion of the two were close but the 2Furious definitely allowed me to play
in a part of the lane that I could not with the 2Fast.
From the first shot of the night I was able to play in the oil a little more which allowed this ball to store up a enough energy to come back like a truck on the backend. The 2Furious with the dull cover was not as versatile as the night went on but for the price point still offered enough hook to make anyone happy.
Possibly one of the best two ball combos so far this year I would suggest players of all levels look into the 2Furious and 2Fast for the upcoming season.
