Brunswick is at it again with their latest release, the Evil Siege!
Pin to PAP (4 1/2" x 1/2" Up) - 4"
CG to PAP - 3 3/4"
Mass Bias - 2 3/8" right of centerline
Balance Hole - N/A
Surface Preparation - Left at box finish (4,000 grit micro pad)
What I was looking for in this layout: I used Brunswick's basic asymmetric drilling layout #1 for a medium track bowler on the Evil Siege. By using this layout, I wanted to get the maximum reaction out of the ball as possible.
What I ended up with in this layout: This was the perfect combination of length and backend that I have been looking for. With the pearlized coverstock, I expected the ball to get through the heads easier than the original Siege and store more energy. This held true as tested a few different lines to the pocket.
What surprised me the most was the amount of movement the Evil Siege made at the breakpoint. This ball produced a much more angular reaction than I had expected and was able to recover from the all areas of the lane.
I had a few different lines to the pocket with the Evil Siege, but my favorite line for this ball was getting in and sending it right. I was able to get in between the 4th and 5th arrows at the heads and send the ball out to as far as the 5th board at my breakpoint 45ft down the lane. The Evil Siege had no problems turning the corner and finishing strong at the pocket.
After testing the reaction inside, I decided to see how versatile I could be with it and made a "small" 20 board adjustment with my feet to the right. After taking some hand out of the ball, the Evil Siege worked great from the outside. The Propel Pearl coverstock is very user friendly and allow multiple angles to be played on the lane.
Overall, this is a great addition to the Brunswick line that will give a new look to the pocket. I would recommend using this ball on medium to medium-heavy oil shots for optimal reaction, or as a compliment to the Brunswick Siege when the lanes break down. I'm very excited about this new addition from Brunswick and highly recommend it.
