This Katana Slash (drilled 60 X 4.5 X 30) gives me just a bit earlier read than my original Katana with the same layout. For my speed and roll (0 tilt), I had to hit the surface with 2000. When I feel my original Katana starting to wiggle downlane or leaving the corners, the simple change to the Slash on the same line has yielded great success.

WOW... this ball is amazing. Radical was able to make a ball as angular as the original but it will hook about 2 feet sooner. I was able to swing the whole lane with this ball. If you like to stand left and throw right. This is the ball you want. Mo And Phil have done it again.

The Katana was a game changer for the Radical brand. It had the most angle of any Radical ball to date. One of its shortcomings was that it got a little too angular at times and would leave me with some ugly counts. With that in mind I decided to put a 50x4.5x40 drilling in my Katana Slash to try and get a little more control of the breakpoint. WOW is this ball great. The Katana Slash reads the lane about 2-3 feet earlier than the original, and covers just as many boards down lane, however, it isn’t as “quick” to do so. Making the Katana Slash a much more “readable” motion that I can use on many different patterns. When the Slash starts losing energy, I can switch to the original and keep striking. They make a great 1-2 punch.

Radical Katana Slash,
I’m left hander. Ball speed around 15 mph. Rev rate around 275-300. It was recommended to get two of these balls. One with a short pin layout another with a long pin layout. The layouts are 120 x 1 1/2 x 60. The other layout is 50 x 4 1/2 x 40 with a P3 balance hole. By doing the two different layouts I have two different backend motion. The short pin layout allows me to play straighter up the boards. And the other allows me move deeper inside swing it. Now these balls aren’t for the light volume oil patterns. But this setup works great together. There is about 9 boards hook differences between the two. I think Radical Bowling Technologies did a great job designing this ball.

Katana Slash sanded to 2000 grit makes this ball a monster... Drilled pin up over ring finger and a low (p3) hole allows for a strong snap off the spot while never losing energy through the pins. This is a must have if you want a ball that doesn't burn early or over react off the spot! #Wowthatsradical
