The Real One has a hybrid coverstock. Drilled the video ball 50x4x30 this layout was great for the way I roll the ball. Love the length with control in the backend. You can see in the the video how it rips through the pins. This will be the ball to open up the lanes. Thank You for reading my review if you have any questions about the ball e-mail or call the shop.

I was looking forward to this release for a long time being that the original ONE was one of favorite balls ever. The shape on the backend and the way the pins fell down was very unique.
The Real One resembles that shape down lane almost exaxtly. Great length with the polished hybrid cover. Being a high rev player i love to see a ball get down lane with ease. Smooth off the spot with my pin down and a little sharper with my pin up. I like to start with the pin down and when the transition comes go to my pin up and get in to get around it.
If you were a fan of the original One series you are going to love this ball. And getting a chance to get any of the originals every time you open a box, and get a free Real One if you do. Sign me up every time.
Thank you EBI.

The Real One is the second of the limited edition releases Ebonite has deployed by following up the success of the Mission Unknown release with this all new #OpenTheBox event. Based solely on core specs, I expected this piece to read the lane early and often, and, it did not disappoint! I’ve had success thus far using the Real One on fresh, and higher volume patterns. Even with its shiny OOB finish, this ball can handle the puddle in the front and adding some surface makes this ball an oil monster. Higher ball speed and rev challenged players will find this ball to be a welcomed edition to the typical league arsenal.

Ebonite Real One Ball Review

Layout: 55 x 6" x 45
Pattern Tested: THS and 41' - 4.04:1 Ratio
Bowlers PAP: 5 7/16 over 3/8 up
Bowlers Axis Rotation: 86*

Well, holy cow! That's my first impression of the Real One. Not being with the brand when the original one was flooding the market, I had no idea what I was missing out on. Thankfully, Ebonite gave me and others, a chance to finally see what that ball was all about and I am thoroughly impressed! For me, I think my layout dictated a little more of my ball motion than I really wanted it to but I still love what I see. For me, I feel it's got more mid lane than my Matrix, which helps the ball get around the corner better than my Matrix. My only issue, is again I think the layout I chose on the ball which can be changed if I really want but for now I will leave it. At times, the ball wants to be too much down lane, then not enough. If that makes sense? Almost creating too much angle down lane. Which, a 6" pin from my pap will do. So I do have some options.. I can change the surface or I can put a weight hole in the ball to help smooth out that reaction. Either way, it's very easy to achieve what I really want. The fact that this ball can do what it does, and still be even better, is crazy to me.

I know not everyone will have the opportunity to throw the Real One based on our promotions we are doing for the ball, but I truly hope if you do get a Real One when you #OpenTheBox, you understand just how great of a ball you are getting!

The Real One is the real deal, a strong asymmetric bowling ball with a lot of versatility on multiple lane patterns. This bowling ball provides a clean reaction through the front and middle part of the lane and strong backend motion at the end of the pattern. As I move deeper on the lane and open my angles, this ball is the first ball I go to and its the perfect fit. I can always count on this ball to make the corner and drive through the pins.

The Real One is the real deal! Ebonite is on fire with their 2017 releases! I never had the chance to throw any of the classic One Series balls, but after throwing this ball, I'm kicking myself for it. Not only is it a great promotion, it is truly a great ball! I drilled mine with a demo layout on it, and it flat out hooks. Real clean through the heads and VERY aggressive but predictable mid-lane and back-end. I own the majority of current EBI releases and The Real One has quickly jumped to the top of my bag. #OPENTHEBOX

Love this remake. Brings back some memories of the original One. With the GB 13.3 Hybrid cover stock and core; it is an awesome combination! On a fresh medium house pattern - 42', this ball excelled. I saw good response and was able to feed the ball outside without any fear of it recovering. This ball is clean, stores energy, and hits good. This ball holds line well. Just play the oil more than the dry early and strike away. An excellent piece to have in the bag. Who knows? You may even open the box and get one of the special edition Ones.

Hey Y'all... Stefanie Johnson here... so I had not ever thrown the original ONE but I can see the hype over this series. My Real One is a huge asset to my arsenal for more medium patterns I am finding. Very clean and continuous for me. It's currently drilled pin above the ring finger with a 45x5x35 layout. This ball will be traveling with me!!!

If you like the original ONE, you will like the new Real One as well. The lower RG really helps this ball store energy and when it hit's the pins you can tell. So far I have thrown it during league and during some leftover league in practice and on both shots I was amazing by the motion. During regular league I was able to keep moving left and the ball never lost the energy to carry.

This is also a great looking ball. I really like the color scheme of the cover. Another winner here coming out from EBI!

This walked in the shop the other day and was a highly anticipated drill. Put a 60x4.5x45 on this and had a chance to throw it during a second shift league, and promised myself to give it a chance and not change balls unless it was needed. Started out at 15 at the arrows and ended the night at 21. Super impressed with the transition and versatility.

This low RG core is a shape that Ebonite hasn't seen in a bit. The cover helps store the energy this ball had back in the day and the shape is a very clean look down lane.

No if only I could get my hands on one of the 1 in 9, Angular Ones or The One!

COMMENTS

The GB13.3 hybrid cover is a great match for this core. For me, this ball is excellent for league patterns with medium to heavier oil. It revs up nicely off my hand, and gets through the fronts cleanly. It picks up the midlane well, and makes a strong arcing move with great continuation through the pins. I’m able to use this ball for an entire league session as I can stay close enough to the friction to keep a good reaction. Higher rev rates will see a more pronounced skid/flip type reaction, and it can also be more condition specific for these players. One other great quality about this ball is that it tells me when it’s time to shell down, because the weak 10 will start to show up. If you were looking to buy only one new ball for league play, the Real One is a great choice.

The Real One, I find is clean with a continuous motion down lane and through the pins. It's versatility should not be overlooked. Open up your angles or close them down, this ball will not disappoint.

Everyone was hoping they would get one of the 4 classic balls when they opened this Gem, but in the end I think this ball is the best out of all of them. This ball is amazing and is a ball you need to have in your bag. Choose your favorite drill and trust that this is The One for you! I went with the pin over my fingers and everything at a 45 degree angle to allow this ball to let me move in and open the lane up and it is so smooth through the middle of the lane and is strong enough down lane to let me play any angle I need. Like my other reviews if you have any questions about Columbia 300 or any other EBI branded ball let me know. If I haven't thrown it I will put you in touch with someone that has so you can get their opinion.

This ball will allow you to start with it on the fresh and continue to use it for many games after. I touched mine with a 3000 pad out of the box to give me a little smoother back end. The Real One is a great benchmark ball for any bowler.

Bowling Ball: The Real One

Initial Thoughts:
I can’t explain how happy I was to have this core back in my bag after all these years! This is one of the best cores ever created. With core numbers of 2.46 rg and 0.056 diff for 15lbs, I knew the Real One was going to rev up quick and flare a lot, so I chose a layout to maximize its potential. With the layout I chose, I got a ball that does just that, revs up very quick in the mid lane and comes off the spot with a very hard arc and a lot of continuation. I can’t use the Real One, for my game, going up the lane, I need to create angle through the front part of the lane in order to get the most out of it. I have drilled these for some of my lower rev rate players and they can go up the lane and get that same great hard arc off of the end of the pattern. If you were a fan of any of the original One series balls, this one will not disappoint!

Best Uses:
When you have to open up your angles through the front part of the lane on most patterns. Longer medium volume patterns I can see this ball working very well on as well.

All I can say is wow!! I've had The Original One and The One Pearl and I loved both. The Real One is pretty much a combination of those 2 balls being that it's a hybrid. I haven't really tried it on any patterns besides a modified house shot and some medium patterns and it seems to really work well on those type of patterns. I think this ball is versatile where you can add surface and it'll be smoother off the spot. For my initial thought on this ball: it's super clean, angular, covers a lot of boards, and hits the pins really well. Get your hands on this ball, you won't regret it!

This ball is great mid lane ball with aggressive backend. Mine is drilled pin up. This ball let's me play down and in also I could play in oil which I was surprised. Get one of these balls to see if you have a chance at winning other balls when you open the box! Check Ebonite sites for details.

Strongest back end in the price point! On top of that you have a 1 in 9 chance of getting at least 2 balls for that same price. Great look, great roll, and even better back end. This ball seems to make everyone a power player.

The Real One is tremendous and lives up to the hype. It is usually my go to ball when I need to open the lane up and/or have medium volumes. The Real One reads the mid lane perfectly and continues at the back. Enough said… Try one and you’ll be excited about what this ball is capable of doing. Dominate Your 86,400 with the Real One!

This one is a goodie. Threw it on the fresh and it rolled very nicely, gave me the hook that I needed, never overreacted and hit the pins tremendously! It's very predictable and versatile. I was able to continue to throw this ball after several games. Definitely a good benchmark ball!

I had my Real One drilled two weeks ago. Although I have only had three opportunities to use the ball to date, I felt the need to publish this review based on what I have experienced thus far. My ball speed is relatively slow (13.5 mph) and as a super senior my rev rate is not what it once was. The Real One allows me to move further left than I expected and create much better carry angles to the pocket than virtually any ball I have thrown in the past 5 years. The ball clears the heads and gets into the mid-lane with ease, picks up at the right time in the mid-lane area and is very strong off the spot all the way through the pins in spite of my speed and rev rate limitations. I am looking forward to the chance to throw this ball on a flatter pattern as I believe it will give me a significant advantage with its easy length and strong back end reaction. I definitely see the Real One being the go to ball for bowlers with a variety of styles and releases. The "Open the Box" promotion which allows bowlers who purchase a Real One to possibly find another ball from the 'One' series is very cool, but getting the Real One in your hands will make every bowler the winner!!

The latest addition to the Upper Mid performance in Ebonite’s lineup is No Marketing ploy it’s the REAL deal. The real One is a play in an massively successful “The One”. The Real one stands up to the legend of the One series providing great midlane with even better continuation on the back. With the stronger coverstock and higher mass bias numbers than the Matrix it picks up a foot sooner and hooks on average 3 boards more overall. For polished equipment for medium pattern the Real ONE is a great ball to start with and as soon as it starts to burn up and need more recovery down lane I switch to the Matrix. Knowing how this ball performs I am not sure I would want one of the other balls in the Open the Box promotion. I feel this one might be over looked as marketing tactic but don’t let that fool you it is a ball that made my tournament back the first time I threw it.
