Brunswick has another vintage ball the Rhino Black Pearl what a great name for a ball. There are four colors very easy to drill for your game. Rhino has control in the front with flip in the backend.

Are you learning to hook the ball? The Rhino is Brunswick's latest entry level ball, available May 10th. It comes in 5 different color schemes, and will be replacing the current Strike King line. For me, my Rhino is less angular and has a little less overall hook than my Strike King. However, the Rhino LOVES the dry boards and seems like the more friction the ball sees, the harder it goes through the pins for me. If you are looking for a ball that will allow you to move outside and play up the boards, this is that ball. It gives me the consistent, predictable motion I am looking for and allows me to play near the gutter with confidence. The Rhino will not be a ball that I throw on all conditions, but it is perfect when there is an overload of friction.

BANG FOR YOUR BUCK!! For a low end cheaper ball this thing packs a punch! Easy length that you would expect for a lower end pearl and predictable motion off of the friction but wow this thing loves to hit!

About the Bowler

Ball Specs: 2.5 inch Pin, 2 oz top, 15.3 lbs. Bowler Specs: Speed- 17mph, Rev Rate 500. Drill Specs: Full Roller Layout for length and backend. Patterns used: Typical House Shot, 37 ft high volume sport pattern. Results: This Rhino was an exceptional amount of backend for the price point on house. Effortless length and strong motion off the dry was exactly what Brunswick wanted to deliver and they hit the mark. I found it to be about 3-2 off of my Strike King, so they've upped the ante of low performance results. On the 37 ft high volume sport pattern, the Rhino had a tough time getting back to the pocket as expected with the shiny finish, so I took it down to 1000 and found that it was very handy as the fronts and mids began to break down. The surface helped even out my reaction as well and became a great tool for tough patterns when you need to clear the fronts and not be violent on the backend. Another great Brunswick product! #TeamBrunswick

I love when I get a ball with low expectations and it turns out to be a pleasant surprise. That's what I got with this ball. its nothing special, just a classic light bulb core with an updated coverstock, but boy is it fun to throw. Got it drilled for max backend on a medium dry shot, so it gets down the lane with plenty of recovery. The carry is even better than expected. For the price, The Rhino is still the best medium-dry ball on the market!

The new Brunswick Rhino's are a great beginner series of bowling balls that allow bowlers to play more up the lane and for novice bowlers to use these balls for sport shot patterns.

This is my review of the New Entry Level Brunswick Rhino. I selectd the Black/Silver .
What I was looking for in this ball was a ball that can get me more right than I have been instead of spotting 17 out to 10 .
What I got was just what I was looking for. The New Rhino got me lined up on20 with my left foot and playing straighter than I ever have before. I can play 8 or 9 and get the ball down the lane longer than and a little sharper break down lane. This ball gave me the down lane movement without over reacting. This is going to be an excellent ball for me when the lane breks down later in the session.
This will give me the control on shorter patterns also. I will recommend the New Rhino is you are looking for a ball that is controllable and predictable as you move right and play the outside lines.

The opinions expressed are solely those of the writer and not Brunswick Bowling .

My average prior to using this ball was 140. Currently I am averaging 175 and the performance of this ball is fantastic. I have become much more accurate in my delivery and have increased my spares to. I have bowled more high 190s and low 200s in three weeks than I have accumulated in the past three years. I highly recommend this ball.

This is a great remake. The core is stable through the heads, but still has enough strength to get a good move to the pocket.

This is the best entry level ball I have thrown to date and has the best color scheme for a ball. It does not hit like entry level at all. For reaction, keep in mind that mine is pin down below my middle finger with an xhole and was brought down to 2000 grit. It's so very smooth and controllable. It doesn't tear off the spot for me making it very predictable. It has been my benchmark ball since it entered my bag.

This ball will be best on lower volume patterns and shorter patterns. Anyone from high rev rates and ball speed (like myself) to lower rev rate and ball speed will see success with this rock.

Here is my take on the Brunswick Magenta/Purple/Navy Rhino. This particular Rhino has a solid reactive cover with an inverted lightbulb core. Box surface is Factory Crown Polish. I have drilled one with a 50 x 4 ¾ x 30 and have thrown it on a verity of THS.
Even though the Rhino is an affordable price point release, the ball actually has great performance for the dollar. This ball will work very well on wet/dry THS and potentially on shorter sport patterns. Those with slower ball speeds and/or who are rev dominant players may find success with the Rhino.

With my slow ball speed (10-11mph)dry lanes have been killing my game, Wed. night 5 person team by the second game they are to dry so I struggle, I got a black/blue Rhino to try WOW last night I used it in the second game 10th frame, straight down the second arrow and threw 3 strikes, game 3 2 splits and bad count 6 frames BUT I got lined up finished with 6 strikes!! this ball does not skid flip, the smoothest ball I have thrown, if you are like me and need a dry lane ball RHINO is it, drilled with pin above ring finger CG out a little, I LOVE IT.

I was looking for something for a low volume house shot without balling down to urethane or plastic. This was definitely the right choice. I’m able to keep this ball in front of me without giving up striking power. I love this piece when they get toasty, and if you hit it with a 2000 abralon it excels on the shorter fresh patters to. A perfect piece that should be in everyone’s bag

Used this ball for complete winter league. This ball is stronger than it is rated. Very predictable down the lane and sharp backend to the pocket on THS league. For the price point you can have a very good ball. I have tried to get this out of my bag because of all of the highly hyped new balls that come out but this one is the most consistant for me. You will have to make adjustments with this ball after the lanes change but it allows for those adjustments.

I am highly rev dominant, and I have had lots of problems on light patterns. I had my Rhino drilled 80 x 5.25 x 50 and I immediately saw an increase in both my average and strike percentage. This ball is perfect for people with high rev rates and/or low speed who struggle on light oil patterns. Even though it is a weaker ball, my Rhino completely destroys the pins if I aim it right.

I drilled my Rhino Black Pearl 60 x 5 x 45. With the natural characteristics of this ball to easily get down lane, I wanted a medium response off the pattern. Bowling on wet dry conditions this ball allows me to play directly in the driest parts of lane with great stored energy as it hits the pins. This allows me great versatility when the lanes break down, and would definitely be a dynamic ball to have in your bag when the lanes dry up, or you have an area of the lane where there is lighter lane oil. I’ve been incredibly impressed with this balls hitting power, and ability to drive through the pin deck. Feel free to contact me by email with any questions [email protected].

this a great ball to add to your arsenal. I drilled this with a 40X4.25X50 layout. this is a awesome ball for your THS. it gives great length down lane with a nice controllable arc on the backend. great ball for the price.

The Rhino is a strong and smooth entry level ball from Brunswick. It is a great value and hooks a bit more than you would expect. It is a little longer than the Strike King it replaces and a bit more angular at the breakpoint. I plan to use this ball when my benchmark balls, like the Danger Zone, are hooking too much. When comparing it to the Danger zone it is about a 5 and 3 move right on the lane with my feet. The Rhino also hooks a few feet later. I believe it will see a good bit of use later in tournament blocks and when I need to start out playing right in the drier part of the lane during league. If your looking for a great performance for a good value I recommend checking out the new Rhino.
