The Freestyle Rush is a great addition for anyone who bowls on light oil conditions. This ball is very clean down the lane with good movement off the breakpoint to create better entry angles to help carry. I go to my Freestyle Rush when the lanes have broken down a bit, usually 3rd or 4th game. I look forward to using this ball more at longer tournament

This ball is the newest introduction into the Freestyle line of MOTIV bowling balls. The MOTIV Freestyle Rush features the new Agility LFP (Low Friction Pearl) Reactive cover stock combined with the Recon core (with a boost for more backend reaction). It's very clean through the lane, therefore it retains energy and makes a strong move on the backend. Most importantly, it has more angle and greater continuation than most low friction balls.

It will be a great fit in your bag on light oil. The Freestyle Rush will be the ball you can count on when the lane are hooking and nothing else will go down the lane. This ball will give much more length than any other ball you will find at this very affordable price.

My Freestyle Rush is laid out with the pin up (above the ring), the cg slightly shifted right and no extra hole. This ball has already found a place in my bag, it's a great go to ball when the lanes are hooking. The ball is very useful on short oil patterns, lanes with burned up headed and older surfaces. If you need a ball at a great price point for short and hooking patterns this is the ball you are looking for.

The Freestyle Rush is an incredible compliment to the original Freestyle for when lanes are drier or in scenarios where lighter volumes of oil are used. I noticed the cleanliness through the front part of lane. However, the backend shape is more angular than original Freestyle. Pending on the pattern being played on, the Rush is a great go-to as the pattern begins to blend. Not only is it good-looking going down the lane, it has the hitting power and continuation through the pins like any other ball in the MOTIV line.
The Freestyle Rush is an unbelievable compliment to quite a few pieces in the current lineup. For the lighter conditions, the Rush can easily be the ball to use for longer blocks of bowling. While more responsive than the original Freestyle, the backend shape is very controllable although mildly angular. The Freestyle Rush overall reaction and cover combination definitely keeps moves simple and smaller as lanes transition.

Personal Stats:

18-20 MPH
PAP - 5 5/8" over, 1" up
Axis Tilt - Estimated 8-12 Degrees
Current League Average: 238

Intended Use:
For the Freestyle Rush, I used a short pin layout to control the downlane motion. My goal was to get urethane-like shape, with a reactive cover.

Reaction:
With the short-pin layout and 500 abralon surface, I achieved my goal. The Freestyle Rush sees the front part of the lane quickly and lays off down lane. This gives me a reactive option where urethane isn't quite enough. It's a step up from the Tank Rampage and below the other reactive balls in my bag.

Overall:
I filled a hole with the Freestyle Rush that I was aiming to fill. This ball fit a perfect niche in between urethane and the lowest reactive I previously had in my bag (Graffiti Tag). This ball will get a lot of play on shorter and flatter patterns where control is the name of the game.

Freestyle- Rush
So who doesn’t love a lower price point piece that provides everything you should expect from a high performance ball? I know I do! The pearl Freestyle Rush is a boost from the original freestyle line to provide more down lane shape while also adding the additional continuation we have all come to love from the Motiv product line. The Freestyle Rush retains energy in high friction environments while retaining its energy longer for powerful continuation through the pins. This ball is a great compliment to the new Motiv Tank Rampage in that natural progression as the lanes transition to high friction progression. The price point definitely makes this ball attractive as it provides that light oil piece for a price everyone can afford. The added differential provides a greater flare potential which in turn provides a stronger back end reaction usually reserved for higher performance rated pieces. This ball is definitely a piece to have and will definitely fall into your light oil progressions! The Free Style Rush is a must have ball – get yours today!

Building off of last year’s Freestyle, MOTIV’s Freestyle Rush finds another level of performance to keep you competitive when the lanes are all but toast. The all new Agility LFP cover (5500LSP finish) is wrapped around a tweaked Recon core (now at 2.60RG, .030Diff) to provide a slightly beefed up performance level than what we have previously seen. I have noticed that the increased differential, though ‘only’ .005 more, has helped to create a little more flare motion to my ball. This factor, along with the strengthened coverstock, has allowed me to play larger angles in slightly more oil than my original Blue/Black Freestyle. When compared to my Venom Cobra, I see more length but a similar motion at the spot; controlled yet continuous. This motion gives me a solid compliment to go down to when the heads and mids become too dry for the Venom line. To top this all off, the color scheme looks fantastic in person. Who does not want to look good while scoring later in the day?

The Freestyle Rush is a light oil pearl which has the ability to create good angle and great continuation for a light oil ball. I feel putting your favorite strong drilling on this ball is the way to go. The Agility light friction reactive coverstock with the Recon core allows this ball to retain more energy in those high friction environments but still deliver a stronger response downlane to carry those conner pins. This ball is made for those times where the lanes have lots of friction but you have to throw it away from the head pin to create enough angle and carry. If you bowl in leagues or tournaments with lots of friction this is your ball. This is another great release and fits on MOTIV’s ball chart perfectly. Pick up one today!

The Freestlye Rush is the newest ball in the Entry Level/Light oil category with Motiv. Compared to the original Freestyle, the Rush has a new coverstock which is more continuous and more aggressive so it can be used for a much longer period on light oil. The blue/Purple really stand out on the lanes and has much better shelf appeal. For those looking for a light oil ball or looking to get an entry level reactive ball from Motiv, this is the one for you!

Summary:

The MOTIV Freestyle Rush was given a differential boost and new shell to provide more shape down lane than the original Freestyle balls. With the NEW Agility Low Friction Pearl(LFP) Reactive cover, the Rush retains more energy in high friction environments so it can deliver a stronger response down lane. Myself being a more power and rev dominant player, I find myself using this ball first out of my bag in medium to low volume house shots. The layout I used places the pin directly above my ring finger, this gives me the most strength out of the Rush overall. I can play multiple angles successfully on fresh House conditions and use the Rush when Sport conditions begin to burn up in the later games. This ball is amazing for the price point and a must have for any bowler who wants to create some controlled angular shape on the lanes.

REACTION

The Freestyle Rush is a significant improvement over previous entry level Motiv equipment. The core has been tweaked to have a higher RG and diff which gives the Rush more length and bite on the back end compared to it's predecessors. For the first time since I started throwing Motiv equipment, this is the first entry level ball that actually gets down lane. I was expecting the Rush to have a smooth arc type of reaction which is usually the norm with entry level balls. It doesn't. The Freestyle Rush is best suited for medium to longer patterns with lighter oil.

COMPARISONS

For the Freestyle Rush, I compared it to the original Freestyle, Graffiti Tag, and the Octane Carbon. The layout is 60 x 4.5" x 75. What I found during filming was the Rush had a motion that was comparable to the Octane Carbon while being about 5 boards weaker. The original Freestyle was weaker with a much rounder shape, while the Tag is a bit stronger and sharper off the spot. I have been successful going from the Octane Carbon to the Freestyle when the lanes transition and force me out of the zone I am playing. I was able to move back to my original line, change to the Rush, and continue striking.

SUMMARY

In my honest opinion, the Freestyle Rush is not an entry level ball. I have relayed my opinion on the matter to the higher ups at Motiv as well. This ball gets down lane and is fast off the spot. It has the motion of equipment at a much higher price point, it just lacks the overall hook potential which is why we sell the Rush as an entry level ball. When the lanes start to break down, I have zero hesitations when it comes to using the Freestyle Rush. Truth be told, I used it the back half of a tournament last weekend and ended up getting the win. The performance you get for the price is unmatched. If you are looking to fill out your arsenal with something for lighter oil conditions, you cannot go wrong with the Motiv Freestyle Rush.
