Here is a good ball for a dry to medium lane condition. It has good length and has a strong movement on the back-end. Would recommend this ball for all skill levels.

About the Bowler

I'm not a over technical person, and I have enjoyed bowling for years. I am a lefty and house balls never worked well for me. I usually averaged about 150 if I'm lucky.

I finally did some research and got this ball, with proper finger tip grips. got a few lessons on the new grip and now my average is 173. I even bowled a 594 series with a 217 best.

I'm very happy with this ball. Works great at my lanes, which has drier conditions than others.

I would say I did need to get a plastic spare ball as getting the 7 pin sometimes caused the ball to spin back away and miss. Other than that it's a really good ball.

I also have to note that I have a not-so-great right knee. I bowl with a bi-lateral hinged knee brace. With this ball I can take small short steps and let the spin handle the work getting into the pocket.

Thinking of getting "Crusher" engraved on it.. thoughts? :)

when i gotten the cyclone back in 2012 it was my first reactive resin bowling ball ever and since then i've gotten more consistent with it and in july of that year i've bowled my first ever 200 game with it and today (2/7/14) i've shot a 235 for the first time my adjustment was i've moved left (because the lanes were very dry) and went right of my target it had enough back end to shatter the pindeck and i amped up my ballspeed a little bit so it won't jump too early through the pins i even started out with it front 5 and i never started out like that before and when i say it hooks IT REALLY HOOKS i highly recommend this bowling ball to anyone who is starting to learn how to hook a bowling ball

About the Bowler

For the price I highly recommend this ball. This ball out performs many of the high priced balls. I regularly buy balls to replace and this ball surprised me. I am a two handed bowler with high revs. But depending on how you have it drilled, this ball can be very aggressive. If you drill it to react early, it will be much more aggressive than drill for long. I had two balls drilled and both reacted very well.

I have had this ball for 10 months now and i like it just after a while it needs to be baked. Great ball i love ebonite products. My only recommendation is you clean and maintain or it really wont hook and you will leave a lot of splits

This ball exceeds my expectations for the price. I bowled my first 300 game with this ball. About three to four weeks prior I had 280, 279, and a 860 series. My games are much better than they were with other higher priced bowling balls. Great job Ebonite.

Beginner
Only recently started bowling, and have used the house ball in about 40-45 games. My average was a 94 with my highest thrown being a 130, which I was relatively proud of.

First day I got this ball, bowled 3 games, averaged a 114, and got a new high of 131. The second day, my average dropped slightly to a 104 (played ten games), but I destroyed my highest and bowled a 170.

This ball is amazing. I'm not very good at hooking, but I can see and "feel" it wanting to do so, so I know it's just that I need more practice.

It's also VERY forgiving if you mess up a little on the release. I've had several that as soon as it left my hand my mind went "Yep, that's a gutter ball", and sure enough I was able to take out a few pins.

All in all this ball is terrific, and highly recommended from one beginner to another.

This is a great ball for the price. I'm telling you I have NEVER seen an entry level ball hit the pocket as hard as this ball. But before you shoot big scores with it (I've shot 299, 279) there are a few preps.

When you buy this ball, I would definitely by a 1000 grit abralon pad with it. The polish can cause it to give you a better chance at leaving corner pins, as well as sometimes missing the pocket. It definitely gives alot more forgiveness.

I also would take it to your pro shop to get it cleaned off with Powerhouse wash after I'd say every other time you bowl (do this yourself for advanced bowlers). This will extend the life of the ball alot longer as not will make the life about a year, where doing this will extend it to about 18 months.

As far as in-depth performance, high speed, medium rev bowlers like me had better be able to play the Walter Ray line. hehe. The ball is also nice on a number of conditions. Threw a 677 on a PBA Cheetah pattern. I noticed that the ball still came back, and recovered nicely if missed right of target. The ball also has some nice carry as coming light also usually means a strike. As I said before though, be prepared to throw a Walter Ray line if you are a high speed medium rev bowler, and the ball will do the work and pack the pocket at a nice price.

I have switched to being a Brunswick exclusive bowler, but I wish Brunswick made this ball, because it would certainly be a great entry level alternative on dry lanes.

I know this ball isn't available on this site, but I'm still going to write a review, b/c I want to promote this ball as much as I can.

I've only been bowling for 2 months (3 months technically, but for the first couple weeks my thumb was so loose I wouldn't even call what I was doing bowling.) Anyway, this ball was drilled with just a standard lay-out, since I (still) don't know what my PAP is.

Even though it's not tricked out for me, this ball still performs so well. For an entry level product, this thing can HOOK. I actually found myself able to play to the right (I'm a leftie) past the headpin at times. And today, I bowled a 210 with it! This thing will carry like a beast, I found myself getting strikes on shots that weren't even that good.

This is a great ball for any beginner and even any intermediate or advanced players looking for a new piece. I highly recommend it.

the Ebonite Cyclone is a great ball for players who are looking for a ball to throw on a short pattern, this ball is great through the front of the lane and middle, as the ball hits the break point the ball comes into the pocket and deflects the pins, this ball is also great for a beginner bowler who is looking for an affordable entry level reactive ball.

This is one awesome ball. I had been throwing a 14lb Brunswick Meanstreak Brawler. I injured my wrist and needed a lighter ball to finish out this league season. Since I didn't want to spend the money I spent on the brawler I ordered one of these in a 12lb. OMG this ball in 12lb hits like a truck and is stronger than my Meanstreak. Of course the Meanstreak is drilled pin out with the pin and cg kicked and I drilled this one pin under the ring finger and the cg barely kicked. So far all I have used it on has been medium oil. I would most likely use it on heavy oil as well but its way too much ball for the dry. At least with this drilling. At half the price of my Meanstreak and more performance I would have to say love it. Buy you one. I'm buying another.

I'm a left - handed bowler who struggled finding a consistent shot. in 20 years I've never bowled a 600 series and carried a 160 avg. Since I started using this ball I've become a 190 avg bowler consistently bowling 200+ games and have rolled 4 600 series. This ball is a great value with great reaction.

Ball has The One cover....enough said. For being a "low end" ball this has the carry of a high performance ball. I actually find myself using it on medium lane conditions a lot. The ball motion is very even, for me, and very predictable. I would recommend this ball to anyone who is looking to either improve their game or just looking to fill a spot in their arsenal. Can't go wrong with it.

This ball is amazing! The back end action is there everytime. I've been playing for almost a year and using just house balls with a 162 avg. I got the Cyclone and my first game was a 211 then 256 and ended with a 173 for my first 600 series! I could not be happier about this gift!

This ball does not work for me, O throw it around 18-19 mph with a 525 rpm, @H style release. It skids so far and never reacts, it is to weak to catch up to how I throw it. If you are a slower throwing bowler with a bit less rev, it will have a nice skid/flip. but if you throw it fast and high rev, i will push to something stronger. unless you just want a spare ball, that is what i use it for now

After a twenty plus year layoff, I have been back into bowling for a couple of seasons now. Through those 20+ months, I have experienced at least a dozen bowling balls.

The Ebonite Cyclone is without a doubt the best entry level ball on the market. I WILL BE purchasing another one within the year unless Ebonite discontinues these.

Great ball.

Had this ball drilled Medium RG- Strong to use a medium/light oil ball. Ball works well on a lighter oil pattern, but fails to produce much hook on a longer pattern with medium oil. On a short medium/light oil pattern the ball performs very well. The price on this ball is great for the performance.

I have been using this ball for two months now and I am very happy with it. I needed a ball less aggressive and with a longer run before it breaks for the pocket when the oil on the lane is pushed down during league games. My game has improved by fifteen pins as a result.

The Cyclone Bowling ball was purchased for my wife. She used it last night and did pretty good. She likes it quite well. It doesn't have quite the backend hook I thought it would, but then it doesn't have the weight block of a heavier ball.

This ball is a great bang for your buck. No doubt the strongest cheap ball i have ever thrown. This the second one i have drilled. went pin down on the layout and it a beast on the fresh. I got alot earlier roll with this ball just because of the layout. This ball will go with me everywhere. Bowl to win!

I think it may become my new goto ball.
