There's no limit on this track - The Swerve FX

Pin to PAP(5 1/8" over 1/8" up) - 5"
Dual Angle Layout - 55* x 5" x 35*
Balance Hole - n/a
Surface Preparation - Out of Box (500/2000 Abralon/Factory Finish Polish)

What I Was Looking For In This Ball Layout:
Went with the same layout I use for most of my test balls including the original Swerve. The Swerve was an aggressive ball from start to finish. The Swerve FX features a pearl version of that cover, designed to offer more length and a
sharper motion on the backend.

This layout should suite this ball motion nicely, giving me a clean look through the front part of the lane with plenty of recovery downlane.

What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout:
I really liked this ball. First, it looks amazing going down the lane. I like balls that you cant see anything while they are rolling and this one did that as well as just looked cool going down the lane.

Second, I was able to move right a little and create a very high scoring angle to the pocket. It was super clean and long down the lane with plenty of "pop" off the breakpoint for me to absolutely crush the pins. A lot of times we will see a pearl ball come out that hooks as much as the first solid ball but in a different part. The Swerve FX actually offered me a totally different look then the original Swerve but kept that high performance ball motion that people look for.

What I Was Looking For In This Ball Layout:

The Swerve was one of my top 3 balls of 2015 and might have been the ball I threw the most last year. It was so predictable and strong, my kind of ball! Needless to say, I was super excited to throw a pearl with the same core!

What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout:

The Swerve FX is everything I was expecting a pearl Swerve to be! Great length, strong backend reaction but easy to read. I never had any issues with over/under with the FX. Due to the core, this ball reads the midlane really well for a pearl and this makes the ball super controllable.

The reaction is reminiscent of old school pearl reactions, for me. I'm reminded of the red Tour Boss Pearl and the Triton Heat. These balls had the same reaction. Long, strong, but you can see the ball revving up and then turning the corner and never stopping. This is my kind of ball reaction. I'm able to move inside, hit it as hard as I want and I don't have to worry about the ball jumping on me.

The Swerve line is amazing and the Swerve FX is the perfect compliment to the solid counterpart!

Swerve FX Pearl coverstock is so responsive and strong off the backend. The Swerve FX is my new ball for first game gives me all the room I need to get through the pocket.

About the Bowler

With my below average rev rate and speed, the Swerve was not a good ball for me. The new Swerve FX is nothing like the original. This ball goes through the mids very clean and is a hook monster in the backend. I would highly recommend this ball to low and medium rev players.

The new Columbia Swerve XF will allow bowlers to get that down lane ball motion that they couldn't get with the original Swerve, the Swerve XF is very versatile for all bowlers and this ball will be great for sport shot conditions.

The ball has very good length and amazing backend. The HYPERSHOCK core really makes a difference. I was skeptical about it, but it creates some amazing pin action. It is my go-to ball out of my bag. I cant wait to throw it more and more!

About the Bowler

Swerve FX – First let me say that I took my time in writing this review because I did not want to be over critical as I was with the original Swerve. Now, some 4 weeks later I can fully attest to the capability and versatility of this ball. Next to the original Delirium, the Swerve FX is a ball you’ll definitely want in your arsenal. Since being punched, I have increased my average in my toughest center by 7 pins and have won 1 Sport tournament and finished very respectively in another.

As I mentioned earlier, I have found the Swerve FX to be capable and versatile. Capable in that the combination of the HyperSHOCK Technology with the energy enhanced material permits the FX to truly motivate itself through a rack of pins. In my opinion there is an actual sound difference when I strike with the FX versus other balls.

Secondly, I mentioned its versatility. As the Serve FX does have a symmetrical core, it’s the lower MB (0.007) that makes it possible for various layouts based on your specific need and talents. I have found that whether I roll it up the back or need to deliver it with tilt, the ball maintains its integrity and delivers the striking you’ve come to expect with Colombia 300 equipment.

It is my belief that the Swerve FX is certainly a ball one would want to have in their bag when lane conditions are an uncertainty.

Tired of not carrying? Wanting that little extra motion in the back?? Well your in luck, the swerve FX is the ball to put in your bag. With the all new HYPERSHOCK technology this ball is a monster. The all new HYPERSHOCK technology is and enhanced material added for the ball to power through the pins and keep a strong continuous motion.

I used a layout of 70x4.25x30 which allows me start straighter and venture into the middle part of the lane but not lose the reaction down lane, I find this ball very smooth and continuous.

About the Bowler

This ball goes left on the back part of the lane. It is very clean on the front part of the lane and goes sideways on the back part of the lane. This ball reminds me of the look I had back in the day with the Blue Pulse and Pearl Boss.
