Grind your ax as sharp as the backend this time around with the DV8 Grudge.

Pin to PAP(5 1/8" over 1/8" up) - 5"
Dual Angle Layout - 55* x 5" x 35*
Balance Hole - n/a
Surface Preparation - Out of Box (500/1000 Siaair Micro Pad)

What I Was Looking For In This Ball Layout:
This is my "go to" pin up layout. It tends to be a pretty strong layout for me, giving me a good amount of skid in the front with a sharper motion off the breakpoint.

The Grudge incorporates an all new core and coverstock from DV8. We are expecting to see a really strong roll in the front and a strong continuous motion down lane.

What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout:
The new Grudge not only did what I wanted it to do but it surpassed my expectations.

This look was my favorite high performance ball motion from DV8 since some of the early releases. Right from the get go, I was impressed with and loved the look I had with this ball.

As expected it was super strong in the front part of the lane but still cleared without using too much energy. As the ball transitioned, you could see it cutting through the fresh oil we were on and set up for a sick backend move. Off the breakpoint the Grudge was a beast, it made a super aggressive turn and kept digging in all the way through the pins.

Anyone looking for the standard in hook ball motion needs to check out the Grudge, you will not be disappointed.

What I Was Looking For In This Ball Layout:

I went with a little different layout on the Grudge to play with to the strengths of the ball. I put the pin lower and a little closer to my axis for maximum hook and early roll. I was looking for a true heavy oil ball from the DV8 line.

What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout:

DV8 wasn't lying when they said this is the strongest ball they've ever created. There's no question... this ball HOOKS!

I was a bit surprised that even with my stronger, earlier rolling layout, this ball still cleared the heads well on our test pattern. This was great because it gave us room to miss right and still have the ball recover. I felt like I had the whole lane with the Grudge (and I pretty much did). A ball like this really makes tough sport shots with longer oil lengths and heavier volumes much easier.

My favorite thing about the Grudge though was the carry. It was 10 back every time I hit the pocket. I loved the angle this ball created in to the pocket as I believe it's the perfect angle to carry the corners.

DV8 has a real winner here and their first true heavy oil ball since the Hell Raiser Revenge (in my opinion). This ball is versatile and strong. Low rev players and speed dominant players will LOVE this ball!

DV8 Grudge is here wow this will be the ball for heavy oil. Grudge will give you strong roll in the front in med-heavy oil. The backend is a very easy way to control the move in the backend.

My Name is Doug Cutler and I am a DV8 Regional Staffer. I am left handed and throw around between 15-16mph. The surface on the Grudge is out of box which is 500/1000 Siaair Pad. Pin is 3-4". I drilled my first Grudge with the Pin just above my ring finger and the CG Stacked. All I can say about the Grudge is WOW! This ball is a hitting machine and it throws the pins all around. This is the most aggressive ball that I have ever had and I loving this ball. I can play up the boards or I can move inside and keep it in the oil and it just cuts through the oil. Also one other thing I love about this ball is if I make a mistake like leak it left it still recovers and still hits hard and does not roll out. I am going to drill another one also and change the surface on it. I compare this ball with my Brunswick Nirvana which at the time was my most aggressive ball and I see the Grudge reads the mid lane cleaner, but saves more energy for the back and has more angle or hook when it hits the pocket. The Brunswick Nirvana reads the mid lane earlier and then kind of just rolls to the pocket which is good for some of the patterns we bowl on. I have used the Grudge on the Kegel Autobon which is a long pattern, and on Kegel 39 foot Flat shot(which was our pattern for the Indiana Master), and also on a THS. On the THS which we bowl on beat up wood I tried it out of the box surface and it was a little too strong, but I brought the surface up to 4000 and man what a difference and I can play from multiple angles. If you are looking for a ball for Heavy oil patterns or even a THS this is a ball you will need in your bag. You can change surfaces on the ball and it will react. If you are using this ball on short patterns you will need to bring the surface up on it. Brunswick has hit another HOME RUN with this ball and the New Composite Cover Stock on this ball is amazing, and every ball that has the Composite Cover Stock I have loved and has been big sellers. Brunswick Brand Balls are the hottest balls on the market. So get to your local Pro Shop and purchase a DV8 Grudge. You will not be Disappointed!!! #dv8bowling #dv8grudge

About the Bowler

Besides looking fantastic, The Grudge is the most aggressive ball in the DV8 line I've ever thrown. The new composite solid cover, is simply the best thing going. It reads the lane early, (exactly like you will want in your heavy oil ball) but it manages to maintain an incredible amount of energy going through the pins. It gets through the heads clean enough to provide the reaction you are looking for, but it hooks early enough to handle heavier volumes of oil. I would definitely recommend this ball to anybody looking to take their heavy oil game to the next level. This is just another reason why the DV8 line is the best in the business.

About the Bowler

I just drilled the new ball by DV8 THE GRUDGE and in league play right out of the box shot a 731 series. This is a monster hooking ball that will not quit hooking. This ball was made for heavy oiled lanes. This is a great ball that every serious bowler should have in their bag.

About the Bowler

If you do not have a DV8 Grudge in your bag… something is wrong.
Now I know you have read that the DV8 Grudge is the biggest hooking ball on the market but don’t let that fool you. This ball is SO clean through the front and then look out – it is going left BUT not that uncontrollable left snap. It just hooks.
As you move left, you don’t lose any hitting power… it just keeps on striking.
I have a pin down Grudge that I use on heavy oil (and out hook most people) and I also have a pin up (70 x 5.5 x 40) as the ball that is in my hands the most. This ball hooks and this ball strikes.
IMHO – I think this ball is changing how we play the lanes. It hooks from places that normally we couldn’t get a ball to hook from, it is clean through the fronts, and it is so controllable.
If you are heading to USBC Nationals in Reno… you need a DV8 Grudge in your bag.

About the Bowler

The Grudge is a monster! I drilled mine 50x5x40. This ball hooks a lot! The Grudge is great on heavy oil. I have used the Grudge on league patterns and goes through the pins with so much power! With the drilling I put on the Grudge it is amazing how smooth down lane it rolls and makes a smooth arch into the pocket. The first time I used it I was very surprised on the recovery, yet it didn’t give me that wet dry motion off the friction. If you’re looking for a ball that is going to hook on anything get the Grudge today!

Bowler Stats:

Rev Rate: 400-450mph
Axis Tilt: 7degrees
Axis Rotation: 30-60 degrees
Layout: 45 degrees by 4” by 45 degrees (small hole 1” down VAL)
Intent: Hook. A lot.
On the lanes: The Grudge has been advertised as so strong that I haven’t thrown it much until I saw a pattern with enough volume that would really test its strength. The 2015 IB Open pattern is 47’ with 33ml of oil; perfect for a test. On the fresh, the Grudge was the most hooking ball in my bag out of the box hands down. Compared to my original Nirvana at 1000 grit, I was surprised to find that the Grudge was about a board stronger than the Nirvana even with its surface. On this pattern I had the Grudge being a little more rolly in nature than the Nirvana so I now have two distinct shapes at the very high end of my bag.
Final Thoughts: I feel like I could literally make this ball hook on ice (at least a flood). Even at the OOB finish, there was plenty of friction to be had. I’m likely to order another and have a stronger layout and rougher surface to have a Grudge/Grudge/Nirvana top part of my arsenal for this year’s IB Open and longer PBA patterns. The only question I have is wondering how they can possibly make something in the future that hooks more.

This ball is fantastic! On a heavy oil house shot with not much backend, this ball provide a solid move to the pocket with great continuation through the pins. I had been using an old Black Widow and play far outside. With this ball, I moved deeper and still get that solid move to the pocket. Overall, this ball is a great long oil ball and a must have for any player.

About the Bowler

This ball is Incredible ! Recently drill this ball with my favorite layout of 60x4x30 and as a medium to low rev bowler this layout works very well for me. Drilled this ball up for 2 leagues I bowl in with a very poor 40ft house shot that is very difficult and demands perfection. I played with different surfaces while landing with polish. This ball is so incredible on a three phases, it clears the fronts with ease and transitions to hook very predictable while the roll is the best.The Grudge has exceeded my expectations with it's hitting and carry power and offers my the back end that I require. Brunswick I believe has a very clear cut advantage with their new resins in their covers. this ball does not absorb any oil, at least for me after 50 games, I got no oil out of the cover of this ball. This ball has clearly exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend this ball to every medium to low rev bowler,I know it will make and positive impact on your game

About the Bowler

The DV8 Grudge is a must have!! The Grudge provides maximum hook with a great amount of energy through the pins. This ball is smooth through the mid lane and angular off the breaking point. The new composite cover stock technology gives you better traction in heavier oil volumes. This ball works best on heavier conditions but can be used on house patterns if you change your angles.

About the Bowler

Layout:::: 30 X 4 1/4 X 45
Box Surface
Rev Rate ::: 300
Ball speed:::: 16 mph
Condition:::::40 ft. House shot
With this layout I wanted something for longer and more volume patterns that would read the mid lane early , get into a roll and still be continuous through the pins.
The Grudge is a ball that gives you the most hook out of the box for heavier oil.
With this layout I used it on a house shot (40 ft.) medium oil. I started playing my normal line that I usually play with my Vandal and Thug Life. The ball crossed and hit the 2 pin . I moved 4 left and 2 with my target playing around 20 to 9 deeper inside than usualy. The Grudge had no issues making the turn. It didn't burn up before making it to the 1-3 pocket.
The Grudge smooth, strong mid lane read, and continuous throughout the lane. The Grudge needs oil without a doubt but if you make the correct moves and play the angles correctly you could make use of it on a normal house shot for about two games.
The new composite cover stock technology positively gives you the traction in heavier oil volumes. Compared to my Thug Life it is earlier by 2 feet and ,more overall total hook by far. This is a ball that will fit into your tournament arsenal . I strongly recommend adding it to your bag.
