The solidarity of the Legion is growing.

Pin to PAP(5 1/8" over 1/8" up) - 5"
Dual Angle Layout - 55* x 5" x 35*
Balance Hole - n/a

Surface Preparation - Out of Box (500/2000 grit Abralon)

What I Was Looking For In This Ball Layout:
I went with the same layout as my Legion to see the differences between the two.

Obviously, with this Legion Solid being a solid reactive surface with a matte finish I knew I would see earlier roll with a smoother motion off the spot.

What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout:
Man this was a really good motion for me.

First of all, I love a solid black bowling ball. I love not seeing anything as the ball rolls down the lane, plus the entire house doesn't know when I miss :)

Back to the ball motion though, the Legion Solid did just as I thought it would. It gave me a really strong but controllable motion from the heads to the pins. I definitely could see this ball being the first ball out of the bag on league night.

The ball was strong enough that I could get into the oil but it really smoothed out for me downlane allowing me to control my entry angle better. Don't misunderstand smooth in this case, this ball still hooked plenty just in the right parts of the lane and not over reacting in any spot.

I was super impressed with the way it went off the pin deck. There was no deflection at all, it drove through and kept the pins really low which I always like to see.

All in all another great release from Track. If you havent thrown a Track ball this season you need to try one.

What I Was Looking For In This Ball Layout:

I loved the first Legion Hybrid, so I was looking forward to throwing this ball. I used my favorite layout which is very smooth on it's own. With the matte finished solid, this ball should be strong and smooth.

What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout:

As I expected, the Track Legion Solid is smoooooth. So easy to read and has an amazing read in the midlane. Unlike many sanded, solid balls, the Legion Solid still finishes extremely strong on the backend. This is a ball that can be used on a wide variety of lane conditions including house patterns, long oil patterns and difficult sport conditions.

The Legion Solid is the perfect complement to the Legion Hybrid. You'll want to start with the Solid and then go to the Hybrid once the Solid starts to hook a bit too early or you need to move inside and turn the corner.

Track is making some amazing bowling balls right now!

Track Legion Solid great new ball in the Legion line. The roll is earlier and smooth through the front with a controlled backend. There are a lot of ways to drill match it to the roll you need and you will love your new Legion Solid.

This ball is the most hook in my bag right now. It is drilled 55 x 4 3/4 x 45, which is a pretty standard layout for me. This ball makes a nice move on the backend and still hits pretty hard. I have used this ball on a few different high volume patterns and it gives me incredible length as well as the added pop down lane. When i use this ball on a typical house pattern i see similar results. It recovers nicely if I spray it to the right and still picks up enough to carry a 10 pin if i keep in a little too tight. This ball is special. All black bowling balls roll great!

The new Track Legion Solid is great for bowlers who loved the original legion and the core in the ball, this ball features the same core but wit ha solid cover stock, this will allow the ball to read earlier in the middle of the lanes and have a strong continuous back end motion towards the pocket.

The Track Legion Solid is an amazing combination of smooth and strength. Taking the Tour SIC coverstock and combining it with the asymmetrical core of the original Legion, for me it is a lethal combination.

I drilled my 1st one with the pin up above the bridge, the CG kicked right about 2” and the mass bias is in the thumb hole. The out of box coverstock is at 2000 grit – but it is a very clean finish. I found that with this drilling, the ball gets through the front part of the lane very clean – even on a short pattern – and reads the end of the pattern very well. At the pins, the entry angle is not too angular and packs a heavy rolling wallop.

My other Legion Solid has a 2” pin placed below the bridge and the mass bias is kicked right. This layout made the reaction much stronger and gave me a fantastic look on longer and higher volume.

Mitch Beasley says to think of this ball like a “Baby Paradox” – a ball that you can switch to when the Paradox is too much ball and you need something to start your transition play. I would tend to agree. For me, this is going to be my benchmark ball and I would recommend it highly!

I drilled this one to be the first ball out of the bag on fresh conditions. I really like the motion I am seeing as the ball gets thru the heads very nicely and makes a strong turn at the breakpoint, however, I am not having much luck with carry. It almost seems to be hitting to hard. I will be making a surface change to see if I can improve my carry.

Just punched this ball with pin below the bridge. The ball reaction I get is awesome. I was expecting the ball to read very early with the drill I have on it as well as the cover being a bit rough out of box but I had no issues getting the ball down lane and it was very smooth off the spot. I would recommend this as a ball to go to after the Paradox. It could be a great first ball out of the bag as well but if putting it up against the current releases from Track it would be a step down from the Paradox.

This ball is stronger than i anticipated. The legion has been a great line and i highly recommend this ball. If you need a ball for heavier lane conditions, this is definitely the ball. i drilled my legion solid weak to give me something different in my arsenal. After a surface change to a 3000 grit and rolled better for me.
